I took Dr. Dvir's Biochemistry course during the Winter 2018 semester and I found his class to be great! He has powerpoints that go in depth with the topics he teaches. You will have to put in a good amount of work outside of class in order to get an A, but he is usually available during his office hours to help out too. I would recommend his class

Dr. Dvir is a great professor. His explanations are clear and about as concise as Biochemistry can be. The textbook is required, but Dvir narrows down the required reading to the bare minimum for learning the material. The tests are fair, extra credit assignments are available, and Dvir is very approachable. I would take him again in the future.

Before I took this class, I was so much worried! Now, I can say that I made the best decision by taking biochemistry l with Dr. Dvir!! It's not an easy class, but at the same time, it's very doable! In all of my exams I got over 100% by studying his lectures only. understand the material and ask questions If you're stuck. GREAT PROFESSOR!!

Dr. Dvir is extremely capable of demonstrating lab techniques. He has a remarkably thorough knowledge of the theory behind techniques, and he relays this knowledge in a clear, concise manner. He carries himself in a professional, cordial fashion and is helpful with questions. It was a joy to learn from him. I strongly recommend taking his courses.

Dr. Dvir provides extensive PPTs detailing course content. He is available during office hours to answer questions and responds thoroughly to forum posts. Though a TON of material is covered, the tests are straightforward. If you are willing to put in the time take BIO3232 with Dr. Dvir. It's a lot of homework/quizzes but expectations are clear.

This is biochemsitry online it is hard, but do your work, do all his extra credit, and all his assignments, and you should do fine in his course, and on the exam make sure you study they are difficult.

Very generous and kind professor. I would definitely take him again for other biochem classes. His class is very straightforward; all you have to do is study for the exams and do very well on the quizzes to get a 90% or higher.

Amazing professor! Definitely a hard class and a lot of reading but the professor is always there to help and answer questions. I would take this professor again in a heartbeat! The material is hard and you have to work hard for your grade but it's definitely doable especially if you ask for help early on.

TA Gau taught the lab course and she was incredibly helpful considering this is biochemistry we're talking about. Class is basically about enzyme activity. Grades are based off quizzes and 2 big reports. Labs can sometimes take up the entire class so don't expect to leave early often.

He does not record lectures for you so you have to read his ppts on your own time. Quiz questions are hard but they show up on the test so you must study them. Study guides are the exact written responses on exam. Unlike all the other responses, forum questions help a lot and were a great way to narrow down what to study! Take the class!

This is a great class to take online if you are motivated to learn the material. His powerpoints are very long but they are very helpful and should be used as guides for what is on the test. You should also complete the study guides he posts online because those are used as written responses. This class is a lot of work but you can still get an A.

I loved this class online. Yes, the powerpoints are long, but they should be long because biochemistry is a very detailed subject. Dvir was clear on what we should expect for exams, he posts study guides in each subject, which ended up being the exact short answers on exams. If you are self motivated enough, I really recommend taking this class!

This class being offered online is a joke. If you need to learn biochem and are not just there for the grade, do not take online. His PowerPoints are forever long and not sufficient for learning the material. The quizzes and exams are tough.

Don't take it online if you have no ability to teach yourself. He is rude and impatient when you email him with questions and the forum posts are a joke. Everyone would google the answers and pull them off straight from wikipedia. I would study like 20 hours out of the week and still didnt help.

It was an online class so I knew what I was getting into as ive taken many online courses before. The quizzes aren't hard, the forums are terrible, the grad students that grade them display your forum grade for everyone to see which I don't even think is legal. The exams are gross. You either get a 50% or a 0 on each exam. No scraping by allowed.

Overall good professor. Attendance is mandatory only bc he gives flowcharts & lecture summaries that are essential when studying for exam. Textbook sometimes useful. Weekly online quizzes help in staying on tract & studying the material in a timely manner. He will prepare you for all exams. Study & thoroughly know all flowcharts and quizzes.

Definitely good prep course for med school. Hard class in general and his high expectations make it even harder. Come to class to pick up mechanism charts which will be on tests. Do weekly online quizzes. Last two tests based on student presentations. He expects a lot from presentations. He is intimidating at first but is actually nice. Good luck!

Dr. Dvir is a good professor. The class was not as scary as I thought it would be , but it did require hard work and studying. If you study the slides & homework he posts on moodle, you will do great! if you have questions, he is willing to help/answer them. Study groups are always helpful too!! I was surprised at how much I enjoyed the class.
