Can I just point out that the person two comments below me who wants to gain credibility by pointing out he's in grad school also can't spell "avoid" or "definitely"? Must be a stellar program you're in, bud. Maybe Pincus was hard on you for a reason; she's really not that bad if you're smart and can do basic things like, you know, spell.

I am currently in graduate school.I felt that it was important to mention because Pincus told me that I would never succeed in college. The disgusting part about her statement is that she is an educator.My advice is to not take her if you can aviod it...and she most definately shouldnt get tenure.

Comment:

Professor Pincus has given me more information about teaching than any other teacher at Ramapo. She is very educated and experienced and that makes her class interesting. It seems to me that the people who had trouble in her class didn't want to do the work. Her grading is very fair.

Absolutely egomaniacal, cynical, and unethical. Treats people with complete disrespect. I learned from the book-nothing from her.Nitpicks at people, and is proud to make them drop tchr ed. Told us about a stud who disagreed w her & she tortured for a yr!

Offers great, true-to-life experiences. Is very timely with grades. Helps those who want to improve. Gave me insights into teaching methods that I have used to help my own children. Once a student gets the hang of using WEB CT, it's a great tool.

I had my first assignment graded, and I was penalized for putting together previously learned knowledge, and drawing original associations and conclusions from said.I was penalized for being erudite because she felt that it was not my opinion, but others.

I am truly disappointed in Ramapo's education program chosing this teacher. Getting an A in her class is not impossible, but be ready to feel horrible about yourself after taking her class. She is critical about looks and very mean. Stay Away

I didn't take her class although she spoke to one of my classes about student teaching. She was so negative and mean that I left the meeting second guessing what I was doing. SHe made us think that we were never going to get jobs. Horrible.
