It's a relatively easy class to pass. Most of the learning will be done outside of class with materials provided by Dr. Arias. Each class is a lecture with lots of stories that may be interesting but not relevant to graded class assignments. No book necessary and attendance isn't critical as long as you pay attention to what he's posted on ilearn.

He tells a lot of stories and might have been a founder of the school. Very easy but don't let the service hours catch up with you at the end. Try to find a service learning site or 3 before starting because they get full and the list isn't up to date. He kind of doesn't listen to what people are talking about if it doesn't support his stuff.

Dr. Arias is interesting and a little unconventional. But he keeps the class interesting. Take really good notes and pay close attention. The way he teaches sometimes you have to find outside materials sublimate and understand social psych. Make sure to pull from all class sources and materials for the midterm and final. Especially his lectures.

I LOVED Professor Arias' class. He never failed to have an engaging story to tell; lectures were always interesting. The class was 4 hours long but we almost always got out early. He gives great feedback on assignments and really makes an effort to be available for students needs.

Dr. Arias is a wonderful professor and advisor. He really cares about the education of the student and supports as much as pushes. I enjoyed all classes with him and working with him through independent research. I excelled with him as my advisor. I would like to thank him a thousand times for a wonderful experience at CSUMB.

He doesn't like to get too specific about things. He wants you to get really creative with capstone and portoflios. Very hard for students who are missing the nuts and bolts of things. But he is very good at pointing you in the direction of resources. Nice man.
