This class seems like an easy discovery- it's not at all. It includes watching multiple 2+ hour movies and then writing essays on them- sometimes multiple in one week. The exam questions are all extremely specific and this class is way too hard for a discovery. Would not recommend.

Arna was impatient when students asked questions and was not in her office during office hours when I tried to visit. I put a lot of effort into the class and utilized the Russian tutors, but she seemed unwilling to help.

Arna is a nice teacher and wants you to succeed. However, when she answers a question asked in class, a majority of the time, her answers to do not answer the question. Material is also not explained well.

Arna was great for Russian 401402, but 503 she seemed to have just given up. She forgets that some of us have given up a lot of other hobbies and even majors to continue with Russian, and her work load is excessive for a class we have almost every day of the week. We did nothing but book exercises in class, which was miserable.

Arna is absolutely wonderful. She has a love for the language and culture that is so strong that it is difficult to leave the class without loving it to some extent. Totally willing to work with students, willing to answer any questions you pose. Russian is a difficult language to begin working with, but she tries to simplify it as much as possible

Her office hours are only until noon, and she is stubborn about staying after her designated hours. She shows up, because she has to. It would seem that she does not care about her students. She puts herself first, and she is hardly understanding when her students are having trouble with the material. She is frustrating to work with.

The class itself is really easy if you took another language becuase it will deff. help but if you didnt than its a little difficult but Arna will help you! hw is given every night but its really easy stuff, but deff. take this class if you want to do something different!ps she will try to get you to major/minor in russian& it works

Arna is a very good professor. She knows her stuff, and has a passion for teaching. She is also an excellent advisor and is always available after class. I wish I could still take classes with her, but I have graduated!
