Worst Professor I have ever had. He does not teach any of the material. Expects us to know things for the spreadsheets without having ever teaching them and without any explanation prior. Seriously, avoid him. This is an accounting class for MINORS you aren't supposed to fail, but he honestly is terrible.

Grade is based on tests. The first set of tests are not that hard and then they become impossible. On the third test everyone failed. We did not go over the test and there was no curve adjustment. He curved the whole class at the end of the course but I would be surprised if anyone received an A. Look at the reviews. It is that bad. DON'T DO IT!

Only take if you do not have any other option. You have to be self-independent to prepare notes for exam. The lecture is not relevant to what comes in exam. HARD!!! You work hard, but cannot get A in this class.

Seriously, this guy has wrecked so many people's GPA's and ruined so many lives because he cannot teach. Exams are unfair; he does nothing to prepare you for his MC questions. Avoid any classes taught by him. If necessary, postpone graduation. Terrible.

This guy is a joke. He can't teach and his tests are nothing like the material and handouts he goes through in class. If you make a mistake, he deducts points in a way that is disproportionate. Thus, one erroneous calculation can drop you from an A to C. Not cool. Worst prof ever. Avoid like the plague!

I was hoping to learn more about auditing but I was wrong. I am usually a hard working student and I am willing to put in the extra hours to study for a class but in this case no matter how much time I put in I still received a low score on my exams. STAY AWAY! I'm an A student and I am struggling in this class. Reason? Haven't learned anything! You learn from yourself by reading the book and when it comes to the test..some/most of the questions will raise your eyebrows. I took this class thinking it can't be that bad but I deeply regret it now and wish that I hadn't taken this course. AVOID!!!

Worst instructor I have encountered at any school. He doesn't teach anything that is tested in the lectures - instead he just rants about the good old days and passes out handouts that have nothing to do with the course. Avg grade on his exams are 60-65%. Some exam Q's aren't even in the book. Trust me, don't make the same mistake I did. Avoid him.

What a shame that our students have to endure a teacher like this. Don't get me wrong, Pahler is a nice guy; but goodness, he has no idea how to teach. How is it that our school isn't protecting us against teachers like this? It's profs such as Pahler that leaves SJSU grads unprepared for the real world, and who makes them look stupid out there!

such terrible teacher....lets put it this way..everyone always asked me questions because they thought i was the smart kid in class, but i was making the same grades they were Cs and Ds. doesnt answer your questions, he skates around them. soo boring . i was an assistant bookkeeper for 2 yrs prior to this class, and still left it with a C-.
