He is a great professor! Very nice and always open to explaining things more. The entire class is taught in Spanish - taking it in high school beforehand is NEEDED. The tests are tough - study up. Do the homework and 2 papers, and just pay as much attention as possible in class.

He's a great PERSON! If you are good at test taking and don't feel like going to class this is for you! His classes are power points and read your book... Easy class but you have to keep up with the readings! Sometimes a bit confusing & disorganized.

Wonderful person and teacher for SPAN 101 or upper division spanish. However, for SPAN 102, many of the spanish teachers started acting like we spoke fluent spanish. Half of my class cheated and still didn't pass the exams. Do the homework and always show up to class and express how hard your trying to work and you'll pass.

He's a nice guy and his tests aren't too hard. He's good at explaining things and the homework isn't too bad, just don't procrastinate, it's easy but time consuming. Worse thing is he goes off syllabus and you can get confused as too due dates and test dates.

The class is pretty easy if you took high school spanish. I passed with a B without studying once. Hardly any homework, he gives you the answers to the workbook.

He's pretty dope. This class may be tough if you have no prior Spanish knowledge though. I took 2 years in high school and this class was super easy. Take Solorzano before any of the other professors.

Such a great professor! He really tries to teach you how to speak the language. The class is very interactive. You're speaking Spanish a lot and it's actually very fun! You learn so much but it's really fast.

He is very entertaining and really animated. He doesn't want you to just memorize vocab lists, he wants you to learn how to speak the language. Not extremely difficult but it's a good idea to study for the tests.

If u haven't taken spanish before, u may not do well in this class. He doesn't give a very good foundation to the language. I took 3 years of spanish in high school, didn't have a good teacher then either, and still feel like I don't have a grasp of the language. He's a good guy, but most of the people in my class felt like it was a waste of time.

Seriously? What are all of these prior comments? If you didn't take at least 2 years in high school, don't expect to succeed in this class. 70% of grade = tests/vocab quizzes/final so if you suck at spanish or tests, RUN AWAY.

Great prof! He's from Guatemala so it's all authentic. Very funny and talks to us as a class. On tests and quizzes it must be spelled correctly & little mistakes are marked off. Speaks mostly spanish in class but if don't understand he'll translate. Lot of class work in pairs with the activities and then he often calls on you to say it out loud.
