This is the worst professor I have ever had for anything. He does not teach and will not work out problems. If you ask a question, be prepared to be mocked by him. He barely does partial credit and the tests are not common, plus no calculators so his tests suck. He was so bad we got him removed as our professor and replaced.

This class wasn't that bad, but I don't think he allows calculators anymore.

Belmonte is the worst lecturer I have ever met and designs some of the hardest tests I have taken. Expect to learn only from the homework. Expect to fail the weekly quizzes and the final because they are not often related to the homework, the integrals almost always require a calculator, and the problems cannot be set up without absolute mastery.

If you have trouble in math, do NOT take Belmonte! I had to work my butt off to get an A in the class. I did not learn a single thing about calc 2 from him this semester. I spent late nights at tutoring and full days of studying to do well in this class. Is getting an A possible for him? Yes, that is only because the tests are common.

He spends half the lecture complaining that the tests dont let us use Calculators and Computer Algebra Systems (CAS), then the other half he teaches us how to use the CAS for problems that are not even like the ones we see on the tests-we don't know how to solve problems because he never ONCE used the chalkboard to solve a problem in front of us.

He doesn't teach. Literally, he introduces a topic and then proceeds to go through a bunch of examples while leaving the students completely lost. Most of my classmates ended up attending the lectures of a different teacher in order to actually learn the material for the test.

Belmonte is a really bad prof avoid if you can. His quiz grading criteria isn't always clear and they're based off of content he has barely taught. You don't learn much from lectures which leaves you on your own to learn and makes everything even more difficult. He's extremely rude and is not understanding of his students.

The absolute worst professor I've ever had the displeasure of associating with. Teaches out of his notes based solely off the calculator, which you cant use on the test (and he tells you this then laughs), and worships Matlab. He's pretty rude, and makes everything more difficult. Avoid if you can.

Unless you can learn math from pre-worked out problems, do not take this class. Nothing is taught to us in lecture, and you are basically on your own to figure things out for the test. We do have two quizzes a week and one is a take home quiz, so passing them is definitly possible, but you have to do a lot of self-learning.

He is the worst math prof Ive ever seen!! Didnt explain a thing and being rude to the one who asked questions. Avoid him at all costs if you have no foundation of calculus. For those who have solid experience with calculus just lean by yourselves on Khan academy or something else.

I would say he is extremely rude to students. After a student showed up one minute early he called them an idiot under his breath once they left. His weekly quizzes are immensely difficult. On one quiz he told us the most popular score was a 0. Moreover, the quiz material is from homework due sometimes 2 weeks later. There is no curve either.

This teacher is absolutely horrid. The "lectures" were him making jokes and references that made no sense and his "teaching" boiled down to him plugging everything into a calculator. The only thing acceptable about this class is that he keeps to his schedule. Just skip class and find a group to study with outside of it, or just take a another prof.

Do not take this professor. He talks more about world war 2 than the actual course content. The only preparation he gives you is an online syllabus that tells you what the names of the different subjects you will be covering are. I learned 95% of this material outside of the classroom through Khan Academy and private tutoring.

all he does is read the notes he has online that are unclear and don't fully show what was done to find the solution. His explanations, if the questions are not specific and localized, they are filled with irreverent and confusing phrases. He is great if all you want is to learn MATLAB but if you need help with the doing it by hand you are SOL

Big regrets. I got through this class by borrowing notes from my friend who had another prof. If you can avoid this prof, DO IT! Even with prior calc knowledge, this class is a struggle if you have this prof. If you get him, I'd recommend reading the textbook and doing a lot of extra practice. He knows his stuff but doesn't know how to teach it

Belmonte's lectures are just 20 minute sessions of him going over problems that he solved in matlab or on a calculator.. He doesnt even explain how to get to certain steps, he'll just say "this is where I took the riemann sum" and if you ask him how to take the riemann sum he'll just yell at you and not explain it.

If you have taken calculus before this class is not that difficult and you don't need to go to lecture to get an A. However, he's rude in class and in office hours and does not teach you how to do the problems. He only works things out on the calculator and you're not allowed to use calculators on tests or quizzes. Take someone else.

He's horrible, that about sums it all up. But to be clear he loves talking and going on tangents to hear himself talk, loves to share that his 3 yr old niece can solve calculus and how the new world order is all gonna end because we can't use a calculator on the tests. In short his class is self taught and don't expect him to help you solve by hand

His lectures are kind of sporadic and don't stay on topic. Like you'll be talking about derivatives and all the sudden he is telling you about the German soldiers in WWII. Would not recommend. Its hard to learn from the lectures, so you have to rely on learning outside of class. Quizzes every week that are harder than necessary. But he is funny.

This professor is likely objectively the worst professor you will hear about teaching calc 151. The lectures are horrid and unhelpful as he just goes over pre-solved questions (some done by calculator which students cannot use on tests) and makes re-used jokes in the mean time. He even goes so far as to ridicule some of his students. Do not Take!!!
