Class was challenging but useful. Although homework from book (which he writes) was hard and not always based on the book, his lectures filled in the blanks. I thought he would always go off topic in lectures or not fully explain concepts, however two years after I took the course I can explain anything form it. Work hard, all will be fine.

He is a relatively nice guy, homework is difficult, tests are hard. You will get the grade you deserve. Expect to work hard, and lectures are actually interesting no matter how far off topic his tangents go. Not easy, but always answers emails and try's to clarify when he causes confusion. Homework and tests are a mystery to what he wants

His teaching style is different. You are either going to like him or hate him. His exams are well put together, meaning a C student will probably get a C on it. He tells little stories during lecture that are entertaining.

I graduated in 2001 and some of my best memories are in Mickle's classes. Every class I've had of his is awesome, so enlightening and so clear. I constantly recall things I've learned from his classes...I thought he was pretty easy but not everybody thought this way -- he does expect you to do your part, so if you are willing to learn you won't be disappointed.
