Dr. Marotti was the most amazing professor that I have ever had in my college career thus far. He is extremely knowledgeable and is well known in his field of study. He is tough in his grading, but fair nonetheless. His lectures are very informative and insightful. It is sad that he has now retired but I feel extremely lucky to have had him.

an okay teacher but he is strict on papers and the extra credit. had to memorize a shakespreare sonnet and if one word was wrong you would have to start over. Lectures were horrible and boring. TA was awesome thank god.

I revere Professor Marotti. He is a brilliant scholar and a wonderful teacher. He is tough but fair, and generous but not a pushover. His readings of texts are always the smartest and most perceptive; if you disagree with him, you're simply wrong. He knows everything. Unfortunately, he's retiring. WSU was very fortunate to have him all these years

He is a good guy, he grades fairly and he is extremely knowledgable. The only complaint I have is he is soooooo intimidating and he can go off topic a lot. He is also always looking for a certain answer. Not very open to a vast variety of interpretations. Marotti is a good prof but not my favorite.

When he lectures I am so interested that it's hard to tear mysefl away from just absorbing the sheer ammount of information and take notes. He is so knowledgeable and a very interesting teacher; much better than his TA Wilkie Collins. Although the workload is rather heavy and quite challenging I would reccomend the class to anyone who likes ENG.

Tremendously intelligent man, and a good lecturer. He expects his class to be just as interested in the material as he is, and delves into a lot of historical context. Challenging, but definitely worth it. I'd take him again.

He was so boring during lectures! Very conceited and full of himself. If it wasn't for our great TA (Tara Hayes) we probably would of all failed!Exam questions were so hard we had to spend a class just understanding the question-not recommended!

I thought taking an introductory lit course would be boring after taking all the rest of my major requirements first, but Professor Marotti made it a great class. The texts he chose were interesting, and his assignments were thought-provoking, and he definitely knows what he is talking about.

He may be a great scholar, but a terrible lecturer especially for a survey course. Intolerant of quality or interpretative judgements other than his own. A TA taught the class for one day, and the difference was stunning. Not the worst, but far from best

For this being a 5000 level Shakespeare course he did an awful lot of lecturing and very little discussion was had in the class. Would not recommend if you want to actually have a discussion about Shakespeare.
