Do not take his class if you have an interest in working in Computer Science. Not a bad guy but he is a bad teacher. He got mad at the class for typing too loud. I was literally coding from what he was teaching and he told everyone note to type. I could go on and on but you will have to trust me and the majority of other reviewers.

Why did pcc hire this Professor!? Students who participate in class are made example of,lectures are superficial and incomprehensible, homework had no basis on what he was teaching, tests are closed booknotes, left to own means to learn. If you want to know the meaning of grade inflation, choose this professor.

It is offensive to me that Chatterjee is allowed to teach CS201. For anybody tranferring to PSU, CS201 is your main chance to learn the linux server and coding on the command line. All assignments were done in C++ in visual studio, and we never got access to the server. Assignments were very unclear and basically CS161 exercises, not "systems".

This teacher is the worst CS instructor I've ever had. He rambles on about multiple concepts a day, with no clear direction. His assignments have little to no guidelines, so you have no idea what is expected or what you're really demonstrating by completing it. I have learned nothing in this class, and apparently I'm not alone. Please, avoid.

If you are a computer science major, do not take this class. You will learn nothing. If you are interested in computer science, do not take this class. No clear structure, no feedback, no communication, no clear grading, just a bunch of reading and outdated text dumped on us with no real outline of what we are supposed to learn. Don't expect help.

The assignments were very confusing. It was unclear what work was expected to be done. I thought I was going to receive a poor grade on all of the assignments, but instead got A's on them all. Chaterjee also failed to follow the course calendar. The midterm was a week earlier than the calendar listed.

Just awful. Do yourself a favor and read other feedback here- it's spot on. I wish I had listened. The worst instructor I've had at pcc. Doesn't respond to posts, minimal/disorganized/outdated course material (wrong chapters referenced in syllabus), and absentee grader. Homework instructions are non-existent; don't expect help.

The instructor, while experienced and knowledgeable, was the worst I've had for a computer science course. Course content was presented in an often confusing and unorganized way. Many of the example links provided were out of date. Assignments were poorly written and unclear. This teacher needs to move on so someone who cares can teach this course.

Currently taking this course from this instructor. Instructor seems very disorganized, and does not post assignment/quiz schedule ahead of time. The assignment instructions are confusing at best. I recommend finding a different instructor for this course..

I'm currently in this class and I have to say this is the most frustrated I've been in any CS course. None of the assignments have clear guidelines. He pushes the concepts more than the structure of the assignments, which I can appreciate, but he uses this as an excuse to have the assignments not make much sense. I do not recommend taking his class

If you take a class with Ashis, check the score you receive on your exams very carefully, there are a lot of mistakes in the questions. Many questions have invalid code or logical flaws and you have to guess what he intended to write to get the right answer. Some questions appear simple, but he flat out marked the wrong answer as the solution.

Utterly abysmal teacher. I found the material itself easy because I already know C++ pretty well (I'm just taking the course for the credits), but I was still worried about my grade because his assignment instructions are so unclear and contradictory, it's really hard to tell if you're doing what he wants or not. Avoid!

Terrible teacher. Assignment instructions were unclear; there was no module format (Module 1, Module 2, etc.). Could not see modules beforehand. Terrible discussion forum and class contents organization. No quizzes other than a midterm and final and only three massive assignments. Took about a month to grade my first assignment. Do not recommend.

Goodluck if you take online. His slides and notes don't help at all. Online quizzes are nearly impossible to complete in the time he gives you to take them. Worst online course I have taken .

I just finished his class in CS 201. He is a terrible teacher. rushes through most of the important topics to get done on time. Poor time management, but talks a lot about them and moves wayy to fast. He doesnt know how to teach. I didnt do that good overall, partly my falt, but mostly his. DO NOT TAKE THIS TEACHER.

He didnt help me when i needed it most online. I emailed him frequently, and he just said a couple of "answers" or said to ask in class, which was extremely unhelpful. He was pretty knowledgeable on the subject, but he was crappy at assigning homework/prepping us for quizes. It was like the class winded on him. If you didnt follow him, your screwd

Although I received a good grade, I don't feel that I learned anything. He would monologue for the entire lecture, no quizzes, no assignments or homework. I don't really think that he knows the subject very well.
