Dr. Cross is the best professor that I ever took in my 4 years. She is caring and friendly and tries her best to make things fun and easy. Her classes are not Easy A's by any means but taking her is worth it. She helps you and you leave the class learning a lot. If you communicate with her she will go out of her way to help

Dr. Cross is one of the best professors at Manhattan College. She helped me become a better writer and also helped me with my speaking skills. She is always willing to help students one-on-one whenever you need her. She gives you great feedback on all of your assignments.

Dr. Cross is such a gem and I would take her class again if I could! She is a genuinely caring professor and is always willing to help and work with her students. Her passion for the subject is very evident and her lectures were insightful. She loves participation, so if you participate and do most of the reading you will do well in her class.

Comment:

Super passionate about English, she is always energetic and interesting. There is a lot of reading and 3 or 4 big papers mixed in with smaller assignments. She explains the books clearly but there is a ton of reading involved, we went through at least 8 books. If you participate a lot in class and work hard on your essays, you will do fine

She really listens to the students but she expects a lot from them; although nothing unachievable. There is a lot of participation but not a lot of essays. She is always willing to work with students on deadlines. You have to go to class and talk but if you do that and about half the reading you will sail through.

You will have a great time in this class, with a lot of interesting discussions. I developed my critical reading enormously. However, there are A LOT of readings and the tests/assignments are not easy. Nevertheless, you will learn. A really interesting class with a crazy(in a good way) professor.

Dr. Cross is really into the subject, she really knows what she is talking about, the only complaint I have is she is kinda disorganized. She is willing to help outside class, very flexible office hours. Kind of an easy test grader but is much stricter on take home essays.

Not as hard as everyone says if you keep up with the readings and make an effort in your assignments. She just wants everyone to think deeper and the class discusions are so fun and interesting that the assignments become enjoyable. This woman is possibly the best professor at Manhattan College and honestly you'd be a fool not to take her!

Dr. Cross is a fantastic teacher, I had her for Masterworks of British Literature. I got an easy A in this class. She does play favorites and I was one so that was to my advantage. I also admitted to having a lot in common with her (ie liking Shakespeare, Hillary Clinton etc). Even tho I am a guy I still got an easy A, even though I was a freshman.
