Comment:

Doc isn't a bad professor by any means. He might be a little too old to be teaching, but in a good way. He cares about students a ton, and helps with their success as much as he can. However, the lectures are all over the place and hard to follow at times. He tells old-man stories for most lectures sometimes. He's a funny guy, though.

The course is pretty simple, if you complete the homework assignments (especially ahead of time), which is possible, since the lecture slides are available all semester for all chapters. The exams and homework checks (quizzes) are pretty simple if you practice the problems daily. He calls on students at random, so it would be wise to come prepared.

This professor is a mess. Make sure you read the chapter before class! He goes over the power-point and nothing on it is on the homework. He does not go over homework so hope you have time for tutoring or already know what you're doing. Spends too much time trying to be funny instead of teaching. Will point you out in class so be prepared!

Doc is an awesome professor. He is one of the few professors who really understand physics and knows how to explain it to the class. He's extremely helpful in any possible way. I felt lost without him when he left SU. Hope he comes back again one day. Doc is a genius and knows how to make physics entertaining and acknowledging at the same time.

He was an excellent professor. Great teacher, beaware you will remember Shakur because he made Physics easy and fun and when you get to 223 you will be crying for doc like i am :(

Doc is a great teacher. No physics teacher that teaches a 121 course is liked by the students. The students dislike the subject and blame the teacher. Doc goes over all of the homework, then tests you on the problems you already went over. The final exam is made up of questions from the tests. It doesn't get much simpler than that.

I heard more of his crazy stories than I did physics material. What's sad is that he's apparently the department's best! First test was easy, second and third tests were total bombs. Final was difficult. Get yourself a physics tutor and you might have some luck!

Good Professor so long as you do the homework and study guides. The only reason you would get anything other than an a or b is if you arent willing to do the work. The tests are straight from the homework and in class examples. If you get a bad grade in this class you shouldnt be taking any sciences at all.

doc shakur was a great teacher, his tests were very much like the study guides you print from his website. cumulative final is tough, but he is a really good teacher who knows his stuff and thinks he is hilarious.
