Comment:
This was the worst accounting class I have taken at ETSU. His class is terrible because he does't try to teach at all and assigns lots of HW. We got out of class at least 30 minutes early every time. He was not specific about what he wanted from you at all and you pretty much had to guess at what you needed to know because he didn't actually teach.

He is a worst professor i have ever had. He is not clear on what he expects of you and just teaches at you instead of making sure the class is grasping the concepts. I would try to email him to get help and get one word responses or i would be told to look at the syllabus. He says "the bottom line" wayy too much...

Dr. Berg is the worst professor that I have had in my accounting career. He is very rude and is not willing to help at all. He does not require you to go to class, and it is honestly pointless to go to class. My grades actually improved when I skipped class and taught myself. If you have to take berg, I am sorry! He is a terrible professor.

This class really wasn't difficult at all. You HAVE to buy the book and read it. It's a necessity, as his multiple choice questions do come from the chapters. His attendance isn't technically mandatory, but if you miss class you'll be lost in the middle of an ocean. As long as you're willing to go to class and pay attention, you'll be fine.

This is the hardest accounting course I have ever taken. Advanced accounting is extremely easy compared to this, as is physics and chemistry. Assignments aren't hard - but the tests are pure memorization. The textbook is so dry and boring.

Mr. Berg is the worst professor I have ever had. He thinks that because he knows whats going on, you should to. He does not teach he just reads powerpoints and expects you to know it all for the quizzes and tests. If you want to teach yourself accounting take this man.

Very unapproachable very arrogant. Studying his slides is the key to passing. Very harsh at grading the assignments. Won't really answer questions about homework, and if he does, he is an a** about it. Pretty boring class. If taught by anyone else it would be a lot easier. Very professional in talk, but not in action. Not focused on helping student

Attendance isnt required - lecture is him reading slides that are on his website. Dont expect him to be very pleasant/helpful. He says he is preparing students for real jobs but Id quit a job if he were my boss. I did well in this class by reading of the chapters & slides & doing the MC/matching questions in the book (they show up on exams).

Dr. Berg is a professor that is great if you are there to learn. He is a tough teacher, however through this you actually get what you paid for an education. I respected his ability in teaching and also enjoyed his lectures. Get used to hearing "The Bottom Line" he likes that phrase, but it brings a smile as you expect to hear it!

Not a particularly hard class in general. Do database assignments in advance - very time consuming. Hard to approach, so plan on teaching yourself AccessExcel. Berg does not do well at responding to emails, and will tell you nothing about the exams. Read and understand all details of chapters for exams.

Does not take attendance, but I would highly recommend going to class. It is difficult subject matter and he makes it a little easier to understand. He is tough, but it is a manageable class if you put the work in for it.

I've been in 3 of his classes. Not the most exciting teacher which could cause you to get distracted. Exams 85% of grade; must study & do practice problems or you won't get a good grade. Very strict, but will help if you apply yourself (just ask).

The most un-approachable person that I have ever met.You must be prepared to teach yourself in his class. He does provide a good text and slides. If you ask him a question to clarify his instructions, good luck.He is very strict about paying attention to his instructions but does a bad job at communicating them.He like to trick you up.Bad instructor.

Dr. Berg needs to retire, he is out of touch with students and very arrogant. Students do not feel comfortable going to him for help, and when they do he provides no help. ETSU does not need to keep a professor that is useless to students. No one likes him, not even other professors.
