This professor is nice as a person, but when she is teaching, she is strict to the book and has high expectations on her students to pass her class. She is a interesting professor to talk to and will open up to you when you tell her about yourself regarding academically and to writing. She definitely gives you clear directions on the essays.

You could ask her for help so many times and she would give you feedback that implies your work is mediocre. I spent hours revising my essays. I ended up getting better help from the TA. She gives a lot of work, which I didn't mind, but I didn't learn anything. With the amount of work I put into this class, she was absolutely not helpful at all.

Her class can be boring sometimes but if you pay attention to what she says and read all the articles and turn in your drafts on time you will do fine. Also, take advantage of her office hours and TA because they help you out a lot and thats how I was able to pass the class

She is very robotic, sticks exactly to what her syllabus says. As far as her lecturing goes she can be very boring sometimes but if you go to class with the intention of actually learning you will leave the class satisfied. there are five essays that will be assigned. Follow the prompts and you should be fine, if you can write already.

As an english major I was upset by her lectures, she wasn't passionate at all and you could tell she was just following requirements for the course. On the other hand, she is a very sweet lady and a helpful editor if you go to her office hours. She'd be great if she cared a little bit more about teaching. On the bright side, it was an easy A.

This professor is like a witch. Writing is one of the difficult things ever and her comments on each essay is dull. To be honest, I fell asleep on her lectures and she laughs on every word she says proving that we suck!! I don't recommend taking her at all.

I took her class City College and was pretty disappointed. I'm a decent writer, but most of the writing assignments were dull, as was the class in general. It just seemed too...structured. She lacked in spontaneity and personality. If you like robot professors who are sticklers about following an agenda, take her. Otherwise, look elsewhere.

Writing is not my thing. Same goes for everyone else taking his course, right? As much I hated it, she kept me on top of my game and I'm thankful she did. She goes over the material and makes sure you understand and if not, she'll answer questions after class. There is lots of help. I recommend her.

Prof. Breay really tried to have all of her students pass. She helped our class by telling us the prompts ahead of time and preparing us thoroughly for each writing assignment. I wish I had her for 92a because she was a tremendous help. I passed her class with a commendable grade on the portfolio. (Going to the tutor really helps too)

I really didn't like this teacher. I missed one day of class and basically what she says to me is too bad. Luckily the tutor that went to our class was alot of help and really nice. her teaching techniques are horrible. If your not a strong writer don't take her class. People fall asleep and when she expects the class to participate they never do.
