Professor Rosenthal was very responsive and helpful when you had a question. The book is pricey but the buy used prices and rental prices were equivalent so I recommend buying. She gladly gave small extensions. She explained every aspect of each grade very clearly. She answered questions and if it made sense shared answers with the class.

Prof. Rosenthal is a good teacher, I don't know what the other people that have rated her have a problem with. I think that the topics she chose were interesting and not difficult to write essays on. She grades fairly and I don't think any of the required work was unreasonable at any point. That being said, you can't just blow off the class.

Planned to take an easy class over the summer to transfer to my university. She makes you work for your grade. Not what I was expecting! The one nice thing is she puts all of your assignments online so you do not have to buy the textbook.

Awful!! Its constant reading and every response must be in essay format, even the discussion boards. She takes all the fun and enjoyment out of the class. When she returns your paper, the only marks are about MLA format, she makes no mention to the actual paper and its subject matter. Don't take this class. It leaves much to be desired.

Never again will I ever take a class taught by her. She is literally the worst English teacher I have ever had in my entire life. All of her assignments are ridiculous, and she critiques everything so harshly. All of the requirements for papers and such are ridiculous as well.

Confusing with her expectations. Bounces around and seems to ramble a bit, but she is quite knowledgeable. Fun class and mostly easy class, except she is unclear in what she expects you to find when studying for a test. Overall a nice person and absolutely negotiable.

I took the class before reading all the ratings up here and I'm SO GLAD that I did. As long as you attend the class, she is very generous with grades. All your group presentations and presentations will be above "A" as long as you prepare even just a little bit. I enjoyed making my own Children's book most. Overall, I highly recommend her!

Quite possibly the hardest class I've ever taken. Just took the final today, which was the most difficult test I've ever taken, and I've went to a major university. She can be nice, but thinks that because it's college she can treat her class like it's a course at harvard. DONT TAKE HER!

Rosenthal really has a deep understanding for children's literature and literature as a whole. While the class was somewhat difficult (she is not an easy A) I feel like I've actually learned a few things from her. If you actually try to do well in her class, you probably will.

She is a very nice person, but doesn't really care that you have other classes. Her assignments are just rediculus. Also she save the hardest assignments for when midterm and finals are about to come around. And the exams are hard. She isn't clear what she is looking for, and doesnt like spelling errors on the exam. Good luck if you take her.
