She tries to be nice and is a generally pleasant person, but when irritated she is a BEZIE. Her class is way to much work for what people think is going to be an easy class and she wants it done with yo maximum efforts even if you think its to much for one simple class. She is really passionate about this class so be prepared to work.

Comment:

Prof. Battenberg knows the potential of college students and doesn't settle for less. You will not get by just coming to class. No surprises except the fact that I didn't think her class would be this challenging. Got an A and I worked hard for it.

Comment:

She can sometimes treat the class a little immaturely, but overall, she is a nice lady. The class consists of a few quizzes, two exams, and few projects. She puts her lectures online, so quizzes are easy to study for and get a good grade. The exams are fairly easy as well. The projects can be time consuming, but are they're pretty straight forward.

She was great. She's really helpful if you're not good at public speaking cause she gives good tips and helps put you at ease. She's funny and she makes her lectures interesting. You get to use an 8"x11" cheat sheet for tests! All you really have to do to get an A is show up and do the speeches, it's that easy.

Barbara gives lectures that are easy to understand and apply to everyday life. The class is easy if you study a moderate amount. The only complaint I have is that I scored an 89.9% in the class and she still gave me a B!

I learned so much from her class. I enjoyed her style of teaching. She has really high expectations for the students, and her expectations help the students to be the best they can be. There is a lot of homework assigned, if you want an easy class do not take her. But if you want to get the most out of your education she is a great choice.

You will learn the material with her. She does assign quite a bit of work in comparison to other professors at Sierra, but her grading isn't all that strict. Her lectures are super interesting, she's funny, and she's really a nice lady if you talk to her. Helped me decide where to transfer. Take her if you actually want to get something from class.

The only thing I did not like about her COMM5 class was that she waited until the end of the semester to assign the group panel. If you screwed that up, you had no time to "make up" for it. Other than that, I enjoyed her class and left with an A.

I would not suggest Battenberg. Her time has honestly come and gone. She was difficult to work with if we needed extra help and she was deffinately red pen happy. I didn't learn as much as i would have like from her class because she is very into "busy work"

I really like Barbara! She is a funny lady and is very honest and up front. She expects her students to do well and some people may not like the fact that she does critique us about our speeches, but she does it to everyone and she does it to help us. I made several friends in this class and really enjoyed it!

I loved the material for this class, but was not a fan of the teacher. The books and films are great, but she doesn't give much time to read them, especially if you have a lot of other homework. You have to read the books to get a good grade, so if you dont like to read dont take this class.

She is a really good professor, but she is often very inappropriate. Considering that she is a communications teacher, she is not always professional in the classroom. Her andectodes are just not appropriate for the classroom. Other than this, I enjoyed her class. If you do the work, you can get an A, but it is not a breeze course.

Where to start.. This teacher has the most retarded test questions I've ever seen. Her lectures are ****enly written and terrible given. She talks about her sons as if they relate to EVERYTHING (it gets so old). She is terrible. DON'T take her class!! She has nothing to give in that class. Nobody in that class liked her!

If you like being treated like you are still in third grade then take this class. I have never rated a professor before, but i couldnt hold my tounge anymore. Honestly the worst teacher at Sierra. She grades her essays unfair and she is bias towards kids she likes and dislikes. She is rude,annoying and only cares about making herself look good.

Terrible teacher. She acts like it is a high school or elementary school class. No talking or cellphones during class. Boring lectures. Tricky quizzes. A lot of projects are assigned. A few group activities. Pretty boring class. She avoids answering any questions. I hated every second of this class. Do not take it unless you like boring lectures

This class can be daunting, with two full-scale speeches and a group debate at the end. Lets you choose topics that interest you which I found very fun researching. Is very nit-picky when grading assignments. Overall, she is always jolly, fair, and cracks jokes that aren't funny, bless her. Tests can be challenging but lets you have a cheat sheet.
