I seriously recommend that all students boycott this teacher for the benefit of all future students. I recently graduated from UMD and she was by far the worst professor I had there. Received my only graded assignment ONE DAY before the final exam, after she had lost it the night before. She is a mess and a horrible teacher.

Horrible Teacher! Took her 2 and a half months to return our paper and it was the only assignment she gave all semester, so i didn't have a grade until a couple days before the final! She babbles on and on and goes off topic. Class is very boring and she makes excuses for everything!

Runs class as though each student counts and has something to contribute. When you get your grade you're in for a big suprise, as she doesn't know one student from the next, and will assign you a grade at random. Beware - save all of your work; she doesn't keep any records you may need your original work to dig yourself out of a hole later

Honestly the most horrible professor I have yet had. Impossible to understand what she wants. Like others have said, she is always right, students are always wrong. I'm worried that I missed my chance to drop.

This class aggrevated me to no end. Her expectations are impossible to understand and she does not prepare you for the final exam. Also expected way to much work from you 3 hours studying per class hour. I also argued my grade on a mid-term and got 20 more points. I was told that my answers were right but I could have used less words (What!!)

Probably the worst experience of my college career. In a semester full of As, this class was impossible. She belittled students in front of others; spent class time discussing things like disadvantages of buying bulk toilet paper, among others. Her expectations are impossible to determine. Don't screw your GPA.

Impossible to understand what she is looking for. assignment was my comprehension of a poem. she failed me 3X, brought my GPA down drastically. she failed my OPINION. how can one's own personal response on a subject be failed, isn't that what makes us individuals.

Although she is knowledgeable, she is quite close-minded. Her opinion reigns and is the only one she will accept. Her expectations are ludicrous--like pulling out one or two random words in 50+ pages of text and quizzing us on that--and I would definitely not recommend her.

She was grading us on 3 things; a quiz, a paper, and the final exam. I did really well on everything and I just got my grade and I got a D. I emailed her telling her she made a mistake and she said that I got an F on my paper, which I actually got a B+. Her grading is unreliable and if you take her keep everything that she hands back.

DO NOT take this professor - in ANY course. Not only is she ridiculously rude and treats her students like highschoolers, she is unorganized and doesn't grade fairly. I think it's impossible to earn yourself an A. I'm an ENL major and have NEVER recieved anything less than an A in ENL. I got an effin D+! You can imagine my fury. Don't hurt your GPA

Blatantly favors certain students, belittles and disregards the majority of the students' ideas. Impossible to get a decent grade in this class. And you will be bored to tears when she rambles on about the most randomest things !!!! Don't take her!!

She is an aweful teacher. She acts like everyone is an English grad student. gets really mad when no one looked up a word in the dictionary out of a 100 page reading. had a paper that you needed an outline for but wouldnt approve anyone's outlines even if they passed in 5 different copies. dont take this class if it't not required!!!

awful teacher..paper requirements are very vague and if you ask her for a better explanation of what she wants she will basically refuse to answer you. She doesn't know what she wants... she is a mental case..and yes the others are right she is very condescending on ideas you have

Professor Jacobskind was nice. You had to get used to her, but once you did she was interesting. She strove to be helpful and did everything she could to be so. Sometimes it was frustrating, but it was all for the best. The best advice for her class is to try your best and show interest from the beginning and stick it through for the semester.

To say it bluntly- please stay far away from a class with her. She is a smart woman, and I'm sure would be interesting to talk to outside of class... but for your own good- don't let her be your professor.
