Comment:
The grade is based mostly on exams, that have very short time and extensive responses. No discussions, papers, or group projects. No extra points. If you do not know calculus, I do not recommend taking classes online with this professor.

Singlehandedly the worst class I've taken at UCD. No direction. No cohesive lectures and then, BAM! Here's a test on material you don't know with limited time. DO NOT TAKE THIS COURSE!

I took this class with an Economics background and I struggled to keep up. In addition, this class was offered as an expedited version which is near impossible. If your work isn't perfect prepare to lose half your grade. I don't know how anyone can get an A much less understand the material in this course.

Took her online class and it was pretty difficult. The homework was hard to reference to the text and her notes. The text for the class was SUPER dry and hard to learn from . The Macro part was actually interesting but her material was old, before the 2009 recession, so it felt weird reading how great the economy is when you know 2009 it changes...

Took the online version of this class. The lectures were essentially "read the book and I'll add notes without restating anything". It made it extremely confusing and I spent more time trying to find examples in the book so I could do homework than actually learning anything.

Very friendly and open to discussions in office hours. Responsive via email. Lacks a little clarity in class notes and presentation. Some discrepancies between class notes and text book.

She is one of the few teachers at the UCD business program to actually treat her class like a graduate level course. You need to use calculus and you need to understand the material. If you don't understand math then get out of finance and business, or be a poor manager and stop complaining. The HW's were a lot of work for very little grade.

Hardest MBA class ever. DO NOT TAKE IT ONLINE if you haven't taken econ in the past. I was failing at first but started attending her lecture in class- WAY BETTER. Explains things great in class. Online too confusing and homework takes hrs to do. Very approachable and helpful prof though.

This is my last course of my MBA and she was by far the hardest, worst professor. 90% of the grade is based on confusing timed exams without enough time to finish. No mercy in her grading, and do not ask why. I averaged greater than a 3.8 GPA prior to this course and also have a minor in economics during undergrad, and still ended up with a C.

She is very helpful but her lectures are not very organized. Her projects have nothing to do with her lectures. For the projects and tests, I found Google was a much better resource than anything she provided. She sounds like she is a much better professor with the in-person format rather than online. Extremely frustrating.

Prof. Pelter is a good person who cares about you and will make time to help you succeed. She has very little ego despite the fact sheĆ¢€™s well versed. Online homework assignments were difficult to complete with lecture notes, but manageable if you spend time to really understand material. A difficult course, but certainly isn't overly burdensome.

Easy but disappointing class. Hard to reach prof., frequent typos or unclear directions in assignments (i.e. "summarize the article from this website" when there were 4 articles on the site). Students in the class were more helpful than the prof. Arbitrary and capricious grading, make sure you don't disagree or suggest a different point of view.

Online course was pretty rough. Each homework assignment took hours for what were worth 1% of the grade. Final paper turned into a 30 page ordeal and we are forced to read every paper submitted and write a two page summary for 5% of total grade. Exams averages have been in 70s, with the class notes not outlining exam questions.

I do not recommend the online class unless you already have a very strong understanding of calculus and economic theory already. I have no opinion to offer on the teacher, as I think she does the best she can given the online format.

Horrible directions, she dosen't clarify what she is looking for on assignments, lecture notes are confusing, and she doesn't help if you are having problems in the course. For an online course she does next to nothing to tech the material so students are own their own to learn the material with little direction.

For the online courses, you might as well just read the book and get a tutor...she is impossible to get help from and/or a response.
