Thee best professor ever, she's so sweet and caring about her students. If you're bad at math she will definitely help you out. She goes above and beyond. Easy grader, little to no work and very few tests and quizzes. You could definitely get an A as long as you go to class!

I somehow ended up in 147 instead of 148 and just stuck with it. IF YOUR DECENT AT MATH TRANSFER OUT! It'll drive you crazy how ditzy she is and forgetful with math. Easy to get an A, its baby stuff. She answers questions amazingly, and the final is optional. But still unless you want a GPA booster DON"T TAKE THIS IF YOUR GOOD AT MATH!

If you haven't got much of a background in math, this class is a great place to start - mainly because Professor Slivan is so good at her job. Very clear, very willing to help you succeed, and very lenient. She helped me get a grip on a subject that initially intimidated me, and because of this I have gone on to get A's in 148 and Calculus.

Excellent teacher. I had no prior background in algebra, but she explained everything in a way that was perfectly clear. She is also genuinely nice and will go out of her way to help you succeed in class. My main advice is: don't skip class unless you are good at teaching yourself from the book.

i am probably the only one who did not find her to be helpful. she was extremely accommodating to everyone else in the class, but conspicuously dismissed me. nice enough, but noticeably harder to me than with others. she did explain very thoroughly.

I RECOMMEND HER!! i got A's almost on every test & quiz. Shes really a good teacher, always asking any1 if they want to go over anything. She will help u during & after class. Test are not hard as long as you know ur stuff.She gives us the formulas & i never was a math person until she gave ma an A in the class. TAKE HER!! shes nice & funny too

Such a sweet woman!! She is genuinely interested in her student's understanding of the concept, and progress in the class. Very easy to understand, and as long as you go to class, and do the hw assignments...you'll get an awesome grade. tests aren't very hard, and she is more than willing to help. Extra credit is optional as well. Great class!
