Comment:

She is one of the sweetest people I have ever met and she is just so adorable! She is very helpful whenever you need her help and is very understanding if you don't understand something. Her class was mainly just discussion of the books we were reading, but they are very helpful when you go to write your papers! Take her class! You won't regret it!

Very sweet. Although she was a little scatter-brained, she was very pleasant to work with. Would probably take her again, but maybe not for a 300 level class. A lot of reading, so make sure to keep up with that and you'll do fine on the responses and papers.

Dr.Waxman is sweet knowledgeable. I had women's lit and ethnic lit with her and loved them. This is not an easy A. Despite admiration and competency of all text in ethnic lit I received straight B and B+'s throughout.. don't expect A's.

Waxman is a great teacher, would definitely recommend her. You read a lot of books in a short amount of time though which can be hard, especially if you get behind. There's a short 2 page response on each book which isn't too hard but make sure to keep up with the reading. Overall, an easy A.

I love her and her class and am planning on taking her again. There is reading every night, which is sometimes a hassle. But class is just discussion. She has such a diverse knowledge and it's a pleasure to listen to her stories. We've only had two small papers to write, and even smaller responses to our books (allowed to omit 1). no quizzes/tests

Babs is a joy (but don't call her anything but Dr. Waxman to her face)! She is a favorite professor of mine, and she is passionate about US Latino Literature. Her class is filled with interesting discussions, and if you make comments, she will love you! She is really nice and funny, and her class was always intriguing. I made an A on every paper!

She is a fairly nice woman, but I would not take her class again. I read the review that she treats her students like highschoolers before I took the class, but ignored it and took it anyway. Mistake. She does treat you like a child. If someone goes to the bathroom, she makes a big deal out of it. Readings are interesting, but she's never on topic.

She's is strict on attendance, so show up for class. Very helpful & if there's a problem she'll do anything she can to solve it. She seems genuinely interested in her students & the material she teaches. Grading's not so tough. She's big on discussion, though, & not afraid to call on people who don't talk much. I would take a class with her again.

Pretty easy professor. drags out class a lot and is very stuck in her ways. 4 essay assignments and she will make you follow her rubric. no creativity or your own thoughts allowed!! just do what she says and you'll get an A. oh, and only 2 absences allowed!!

basically you just respond to literature. it's pretty easy. She is available for help throughout paper writing process, and wants to help you improve your writing. class sometimes is boring, but she's very clear, and goes over and over examples and suggestions for your paper. she emails alot, is very available. papers are mostly your opinions.
