He is easily the most intelligent man in the department, he went to school with Ben Bernanke and wont let you forget it. His test are the hardest things ive ever seen, he often tests you on stuff we havent learned yet but the curve is HUGE! I got a 128200 and got an A on the midterm. 50% midterm 50%final, if you want to learn take his class

My favorite professor in Binghamton University. Don't be scared by his first lecture. He is very busy but if you go to his office hour, he will explain everything for you in one second. His test is the most horrible thing I ever have but he gave huge curve. He is not trying to freak you out but want you to really think and work by yourself.

Tests are hard. Crazy hard. But his curve is even crazier. I got 110 out of 210 or something and walked away with an A. The guy is brilliant and makes you really think. It's confusing material and the tests will freak out but somehow it all works out in the end. Honestly, I took away more from this than any other Econ class. Bing's best econ prof

From day one I was touched by the way he was lecturing. So clear and specific. You will have to study 4-5 hours a day probably to get a decent grade. I read the book cover to cover. Exams are the hardest you can probably ever see in your life but since everyone does bad there is a huge curve. If you are willing to accept the challenge go for it

Makes literally the hardest exams I've ever taken. Nice enough guy and you'll leave his class with a lot of new knowledge, but be prepared to put in a lot of study time for very little reward. If there was a stress/ frustration category BJones would have a 5/5 rating.

I took his international Monetary policy last semester , Fall 2013. His class was really helpful, it was not that hard if you went to the class and took the notes. Be sure to do the work that he asked to do at home by yourself, fewer questions would make you well understand his notes. The tests would be a little bit challenging but you'll be fine:)

One of the greatest and smartest professors in ECON department. This class is difficult but you can learn a lot with him. You need to spend lots of time to study this course. His test is extremely hard but it is with huge curve. Make sure you do better than other guys and you will receive good grades. Don't blame on Professor if you did't work hard

Great professor. Presents all information in clear and concise ways. Is willing to take questions and help students out whenever possible, although not many questions are asked because he's so thorough in his teaching. Readings are essential for understanding of the material, even though the information in readings is often presented in class.

Tough but extremely rewarding class. If you want to learn Macro and are willing to work for it, take it with Barry Jones. Make sure you read the textbook, practice models until you understand them, take advantage of study groups, office hours, and Econ Club, and make a killer cheat sheet. Great professor, gerat class.

His tests are hard. He tells you that the first day of classes (a 65% was an A on the first test). Study concepts and you will do fine. The homework is nothing like his tests and are more forumla based. If you understand how to shift graphs and how different variable are interrelated you will end up at the top of the class with the curve.

Barry Jones is one of the smartest, and well-spoken profs at bing. His midterm and final are ridiculously hard, but if you understand the material well enough, the curve will carry you through with at least a B as long as you go to class and understand the stuff. Highly Recommend

Does this professor deserve a chili pepper? No. Is his class interesting? It's macroeconomics; you decide for yourself. All I know is that he is adamant in his views and waves off all other ideas.

As far as Macroeconomic theory is concerned, the textbook and lectures were sufficient. Helpfulness? Never went to his office hours because he scared me. All I know is one thing: he does not deserve a chili pepper.

His class is very hard and his exams are impossible. However, if go to his class every week and write down notes, then you'll do ok on his exams.
