Comment:
Barry is a great guy, and a terrible prof. 50+ assignments this semester, and he barely explained anything in class, preferring to let us read the textbook or watch short youtube presentations he put together. He also doesn't seem particularly interested to see if people are paying attention to him. Beware: you'll see new stuff on the finals.

His courses are challenging but rewarding. Put in the time and you'll reap the benefits. Don't feel rating a professor on his "Easiness" is an accurate measure of his teaching capabilities... Being spoon fed good marks isn't going to help you in the real world. You need to work for it.

Barry Is quite the Guy. He is INCREDIBLY smart. So much so that it can hinder student performance. He will answer any question for you and will go the extra mile (which you can get lost in if you are not careful). Barry Always curves his class marks, and if you can sort through his material, EVERYTHING you need to know is presented in class.

Went through material extremely fast and expected students to follow along. His lectures were very dull... Uses advanced Chemistry vocabulary like it's everday English. Disappointing professor.

Worst class I have ever taken. He is a terrible teacher and his final exam is on material that he did not teach you and that he said would not be on it. Known as the worst professor at UPEI in the Chemistry department. Unfortunately biochemistry is a mandatory course. Just try to get through it. It will be rough.

BioChem is challenging but if you pretty bright and put the effort in you can do well. This course is not for slackers. Keep up to date on work and readings and you'll be fine, but make sure not to fall behind because the course moves quickly. He is my favorite lecturer at UPEI and quite possibly the wittiest person I have ever met.

A challenging, through very rewarding experience. Without a doubt, the best teacher I've ever had, and also the most friendly. He's alway available and interested in helping you learn.

He is horrible! The course material is extremely hard and he explains it like we are all genuises or something. And he will always put some absurd type of question on the exam that will totally throw you off. Good luck trying to find this guy..he is rarely around during his office hours!

Remember all those times in Ecology, cell phys or chem where they showed you some incredibly complex mechanism, and you felt like you had cheated death when they told you that it wouldn't be on the final? Those days are over. You will need to know EVERYTHING you ever put off learning for this course. Barry's ok; his problem is that he's brilliant.

He is an excellent lectured, and he is funny (and cute!), but he will always add things in tests that you have never heard of, and he is never around to help.

the perfect example of why all profs should have to take at least a few education courses before teaching any class. he has no idea whatsoever how to teach. funny guy, but classes r still so boring. he lectures like he's teaching people with biochem phds - VERY unclear. tries to trick you on tests. genius, but a really, really, really bad prof.

A very funny guy who has lots of anecdotes during class, but the tests and finals are very hard. He writes his multiple choice questions in a way that confuses, even if you know the answer.

He made organic impossible. We all passed because he graded on a curve near the end. Teaches at a much too advanced level. Hilarious guy, great guy, but exam questions are too tough!

COME ON, 2 binders of printed slide notes and 1 binder's worth of tutorials - which you need to read if you want to understand at his level - PLUS a textbook?? I think he forgets most of us are taking 4 other courses too! Does NOT teach, just presents a slide show expecting you to have already self taught before the lecture.

I'm not sure why Barry chose to become a professor. He seems to be afraid of his students and does not like to be approached with questions. His courses are extremely hard and he does not explain his notes well enough. Also, the classes are very boring and hard to sit through.
