After a long day of classes, it's always great to have the last one be taught by Barry. His sense of humor comes from his awkwardness. Very clear and easy to talk to. The lower level courses are quite straight forward. Overall, he is a great prof that gets the class laughing.

Comment:

Barry is a wonderful teacher and knows his stuff. He has the best kind of humor, and likes Phineas and Ferb...what more could you ask for? His upper level Philosophy classes have lots of difficult content in them, so if you take one, pay close attention to every detail. His lower level classes are easier and mandatory ones needed for the credit.

Barry is smart but he only wants you to know what he teaches, basically wants you to write exactly what he did on the essays. Tests are easy- gives questions before and tells you where to find the answers.

Barry Smith has "unique" things to say. Very interesting "stance" he takes in class. New Testament was easy, almost too easy. It is clear that he does not enjoy teaching the course. I thought he was okay, but some students got off too easy.

Dr. Smith is a knowledgeable prof, and though his lectures can be dry, the material is interesting. He is fair in his marking, and is helpful. He provides his lecture notes on the school website so you don't have to worry about taking notes or missing any...that is probably why people find his classes dry.

Tests are insanely difficult, even if you know the N.T. Teaching is monotone and boring, very hard to stay awake. Personally, I USED TO be very enthusiastic about Jesus, until I took this course :(
