Comment:

Don't take him at all. Taking his class is basically learning stat by yourself, so if your not great at math your not going to do well. He only has quizzes and test so if you don't do great on one of them your grade reflects it. Also he goes on 30-45 min rants about pointless topics that nobody cares about that are not related to the class.

He is a super sweet man, but he is not a very good teacher. He doesn't use powerpoints, he just writes examples of the board so it can be confusing at times. He can make super simple subjects way harder than they need to be. He only grades you on quizzes, the midterm and the final so you have to well on every single assignment to do well.

DO NOT TAKE THIS PROFESSOR. His questions are very confusing and trys to trip you up. I emailed him 3 times to try and get extra help, a week and a half went by and he never responded me. The first time I have ever withdrawn from a class.

Took the face to face class. There were 5 quizzes, a midterm and a final. As long as you do the homework before the quizzes, they should be an easy A. Attendance is not mandatory, but still go or you will be lost. Midterm and final were a little more challenging, but he added a curve.

Took his face to face class and would recommend! You have a midterm and a final with 5 quizzes. Each quiz is one problem from the homework. Attendance is not mandatory. as long as you do the homework and study the material a little you will do just fine. He is a great professor and teaches in a way that keeps you interested.

I took this class online and found it pretty difficult. He does what he can to help you out though. 1 midterm worth 1/3 of your grade, 10 quizzes worth the other 1/3, and the final worth the last third. What you put into this class is definitely what you get out of it. The book is key.

If you do the homework, like any decent student who cares about their future should do, you will get at LEAST a B in the course. His test are not difficult as long as you understand the material from showing up for class. He makes it easy to understand the material through real examples.

Strongly disliked this class as my first statistics class ever. He expects you to know material and he uses overly scientific language instead of trying to explain things. The class itself wasn't that hard, I usually had to teach myself through his homework examples.

He is a really cool teacher that cares about his students. QMM isn't easy but if you participate and ask questions when you don't understand he will help you until you get it perfectly. Not a hard class to get an A in as long as you put in the effort.

He has a bad rep because the course is difficult as it is. However, if you go to the tutoring sessions or meet with him (i suggest meeting one on one with him) he is very thoughtful and helpful.

He is really bad at teaching, does not explain things well at all. 70% of his lectures are rambling tangents. Take it online (in summer) so you can fast forward through the really unnecessary parts and so you can use open notes on everything. Truly horrible professor take someone else if you can.

Barry Wray is not clear or consistent in his lectures. He is rude to students who participate in class and talks down to them even when they are giving a correct answer. Going to office hours is not helpful. To structure a class as having only 5 quizzes, a midterm and a cumulative final as the only grades is lazy and sets students up for failure.

His class is no doubt one of the hardest I have ever taken, so if you don't have a good grasp on the basics of statistics then I would suggest taking someone else. He is very knowledgeable about stats but is not very good at teaching it.

During the course I became lost at his unclear teaching methods. The class is made up of ONLY 5 quizzes worth 33%, midterm 33%, and a final exam 34%. If you mess up on a quiz or so or the midterm you are SCREWED. Statistics is a hard concept to grasp for some, who teaches you really matters. I asked to be bumped up to a C and he would not help.

Very knowledgeable about everything he teaches and really wants everyone to do well and be successful. He gives 5 quizzes and two tests including a final. If you go to class (Not required) then you should get a B even with no previous knowledge of the subject.

Awful Class!!! The quizzes and so much easier then his test. I learned more teaching myself then going to class. I'm an A student and I made 100's on his quizzes, but his test killed me!! Don''t take unless you have too!!!!!!!
