I took phys 1 and 2 with him. His classes are very straight forward - attend the class - do the hmw - practice the practice exams he gives you - and you will do good. the people who complain about him fall asleep in class or text the whole time.

Do NOT take him if you are a physics major or need upper level physics. If you are just looking to pass the class and not learn anything take him, but otherwise stay away! He is also super disrespectful to the students and will often mummer under his breath his dislike for us. I took him because everyone says that he is great but I've learn nothing

Teaches extremely well, though lectures can feel stretched. Practice tests and notes can be found online and just doing those is sufficient to pass.

He's very concise. His lectures teach physics in a very easy way to understand. He memorizes all the students names. He's a great teacher, but he could be a little bit more challenging. But for an introductory level course he's a perfect teacher.

This is one of the best profs. on campus, funny, engages the class, and made me have a much greater love and interest in physics. He is a very fair grader, and curves exams fairly. All in all I think if you have the opportunity to take him, take him

Mr. Sawyer is really funny and makes the class pretty entertaining. The class is delivered in a very straightforward manner. He is very clear about what it takes to pass this class. If you master the homework then you will ace the tests.

Best professor ever. Funny, clear, and makes weird jokes that changes the atmosphere of the class and makes everyone laugh. Other than that, his explanation of the complicated physics stuff is the best i've ever seen. His tests are not too easy for somebody who doesn't like to understand the material and study them before taking the tests.

Very clear and easy to understand. Do the practice exams and homework and you'll do fine. Very knowledgeable. Antisocial outside the lecture. Provides extra material on Angel that you can study with. Overall a great professor. Highly recommend for PHY 1001. Glad he teaches PHY 2002 as well.

Gives answers to homework, provides old tests. Easy to pass tests, but to do better is a challenge. Not as funny/exciting as often given credit for. Spends a lot of time deriving equations too. Super smart guy, probably great if you are truly interested in the subject. Not that available outside of class.2 tests per semester, 1 final, be careful

The worst teacher ever. His classes are super boring, at least one guy in his class falls a sleep. In addition to this only 2 tests and HW. If you like to do continuous evaluation DO NOT take this guy.
