I learned so much from her! Her teaching of Dante opened my eyes and inspired me. She's very theatrical in class, even acting out certain portions of the story. Reading is important, and she does quizzes regularly, but the grading is reasonable and the insights treasured.

I took Waterman-Ward for Lit Trad I. Others had told me how tough and mean she was but she taught us more than any other Lit Trad professor out there, she gave great feedback on your papers, tough but fair grader, and always had time to meet with you. Great professor!

I recommend Dr. Waterman Ward to anyone who is motivated to work and loves literature. She is a hard grader and there is a lot or work to be done in order to succeed, but if you read and analyze well you are good. She is always willing to help when you have questions and she sets up meetings with everyone to help on essays. Her lectures are fun!

CRAZY! I would get C's on every paper, and was trying sooo hard. If I went to her, she told me that if I kept trying really hard that I could get a B and it just wasn't worth all the work that goes into the class. She has you read 6 chapters and quizzes you over them every Monday, where you have to say who's talking to who in the quotes.. Avoid :(

She is the absolute worst teacher at the University of Dallas. She accuses every one of plagiarism and does not work well with people who have extreme circumstances outside the classroom. Her grading is very arbitrary. Her topics on papers make no sense and her lectures are a waste of time because she thinks she's an actor. She needs to go.

She is a such an interesting professor. You will never get bored in this class! I say this as a science major. She makes it interesting by acting out the characters in the books you read. She even takes you outside for class in the garden if the weather is nice. Take her if you want to really immerse yourself in the text.

Dr. Waterman-Ward is very kind. She is very straight-forward in the Lit Trad II discussions, and she will practically write your thesis for you if you are subtle about it. Excellent class for the mathematically minded/ non English majors.

An absolute disgrace to the university. She spreads her crazy beliefs from one class to the next and if you don't agree with these beliefs, expect to get a fat F. She is very distracting with all of her weird movements in class and basically claims that half the class plagiarizes on every essay. AVOID THIS ONE

Grading in her class is completely arbitrary. I didn't find the class to be structured, and her teaching style was a little distracting. Definitely not a class for science or math majors.

Possibly the worst professor I have ever had. Avoid her at all costs. She insults students in class and refuses to compromise. She is very unwilling to help you outside of class and I had to go to the dean just to get her to tell me my grades. Grading is completely arbitrary. Write exactly what she thinks in your essay and you might do ok.

This woman is off her rocker. Her theatrics are very distracting and downright weird. She is very condescending and her cryptic essay comments are not at all helpful. Her essay grading makes very little sense. Our comedy and tragedy tests/papers were graded much harder yet we attended the same lit trad lectures. AVOID!

Quite possibly the worst prof ever. Her theatrics in class caused her to lose focus (probably should have been in drama). She thought she was so amazing and smart b/c she went to Harvard and never let you forget it. She's unorganized and made us sift through the entire class' work in order to find our (no privacy). Avoid at all costs!

Worst class I have taken in my entire life. She laughs at her own... I'm not even sure if they're jokes, but she thinks they are. Brings up several points in class and never finishes her thoughts. Probably insane. Class is torture. She is extremely overdramatic and this causes her to forget what she's talking about. And she doesn't shave her legs.

Kookiest professor I've ever had. But this woman is brilliant. She asks the most interesting questions and, in doing so, opens your eyes. The work was simple; just read and do your papers.

I disagree with the people suggesting she "looks over your shoulder" while you are writing your paper. I have found her to be very hands-off about the paper, but yes, VERY helpful and very much wacky but in a great way. I love her and I only wish she was teaching my Lit Trad II next semester... alas.

Immensely intelligent woman, but I don't like her class; it feels like a battle to see who will answer her weird questions. she once asked "why do you not want to wear a sock covered in corpse blood" and waited 30 seconds for an answer. paper topics are boring, but she lets you do whatever you want, provided you just DO it before asking. do it.

The class was enjoyable, even if the reaing wasn't (I dispise Milton, but that's not her fault). My biggest complaint was that with every paper I felt like she was constantly looking over my shoulder. She practically dictates your papers to you, which I find a bit constraining.

Very interesting and insightful. She doesn't do those "first five minutes" quizzes to make sure you read--that sometimes you fail even if you read. But she DOES help you think about the literature, and her class has been one of those that stay

Sometimes a little TOO helpful, if you ask for suggestions on a paper, she will essentially write the paper for you. Other than this minor peccadillo, she is an excellent Prof-- lots of energy, wackiness, and insight, especially when it comes to Dante.
