You're sitting in a writing class at a state school listening to a former MIT grad command life and literature in a way that makes you question your worth as a human never mind as a writer. And yet, little by little, he allows you to realize that you and what you write is important, is something that others would want to experience. That's impact.

Professor Horn is one of the nicest and most understanding professors I've had at FSU. He is absolutely brilliant and just wants his students to learn without feeling forced. He will accept most things late as long as you keep an open line of communication with him and is really willing to make sure you get the grade you want.

Dr. Horn has no idea what's going on in class. People text, fall asleep, whatever. All he wants to do is give lectures about his ideas, and who cares? He is the easiest English prof. He is the typical absent minded professor. I did almost the exact same paper for seminar as I did in Russian lit--he didn't notice or care.

Bernie Horn is the nicest and easiest professor ever. His seminar was easier than my 200 level classes. He gives you all the articles, and you just have to quote from his book a few times. I wrote my paper in a day and he gave me a B.

I took Compartive Mythology and I didn't learn a thing because he didn't teach anything. U don't have to read because you're not quizzed on anything. Just hand in your weekly "journals" and attend class long enough for him to take attendence. EASY

He is very nice but a little scatter brained (think your stereotypical absent minded professor). For some reason he decided to teach or class like a lit class (and then later a theater class) rather than a writing class. He also took a very long time getting papers back which made it hard to learn how to write since that wasn't taught ever.

Really has the knack for understanding the best way to help the development of each student as an individual. Great integration of reading material, and our own writing. Never knew there were so many possible interpretations of the brief sentence "Noah was a good man in his generation." Dr. Horn is a genius for sure, but not the least bit condescending. You really have to pay attention in order to appreciate the complexities he gets into, but it's worth it.

Professor Horn is one of the best professors I have had the pleasure of meeting. He is funny and throws in occasional political jokes. If you do the work you will have no trouble as this class is easy. You may never meet another professor as down to earth as him. I totally recommend taking classes with him.

Bernie is a very nice man. He lectures too long and I felt lost in this class. I wish I dropped it for fear of failing. There is not enough time in a week to balance other work and read all these books that he assigns. It's all Greek pretty much.
