Comment:

A very nice guy, usually. Takes time to learn everyones names within the first week or so, which is uncommon. Sometimes he comes out of nowhere and gets angry about something random, tends to be forgetful too. But, I did manage to learn a lot in his class in spite of these things. I didn't do so well on the tests, but it wasn't a waste of time

Dr. Greenspan is an amazing professor. He has so much experience - both musical and life experience. He works very hard and expects you to work as hard as he does. If you are willing to work you will learn an amazing amount! If you are a slacker you will be wasting your time and his and he will let you know it!

Dr. Greenspan is a very good teacher, and an amazing person. Those who criticize him, shame on you. I got A in all of his Styles classes. Just listen to him, and be respectful.

Dr. Greenspan has gotten a bad rep from other instructors and students, but I think he his hard on people just because he wants them to do well. He has helped me immensely with my technique and I've advanced much faster than I thought. As long as you try your hardest and your best, he will notice and give you a lot of support.

This man is a terrible teacher. I rather take a doctorate level music history class because because it would be like cake compared to his class. He does not tell you what is on the tests and repeats himself constantly. Unless you know everything about everything you will do bad on his tests. By far one of the worst teachers at Rowan.

Dr. Greenspan is very intelligent, but his notes are very out of order and difficult to comprehend at times. But, if you study hard and make a conscious effort to learn something, you will do ok.

He means well (assuming he likes you) and Is pleasant when things are good. But all the comments hold true; he is a scatter brain with extraordinary expectations, though the curriculum is on par with most high level music schools, so it's hard to fault him for that. Only take this class if you have to, and if you do, know the book front to back.

Oh Dr. Greenspan. He is a nice guy but he is the worst scatter brain you will ever know. If you dont understand something in class and try to go for extra help he doesnt really help you. He is extremely smart but he doesnt know how to teach.

His tests are ridiculously hard and are at least graduate level if not Doctorate. After failing (you will fail) tests he will tell you that the answers were obvious. Doesn't know how to teach at all, totally disorganized, and goes on rants about religion and politics every class. DON'T TAKE THIS CLASS IF YOU DON'T HAVE TO! I had to take it.

He's really nice to me, and knows alot but he can't teach to save his life. The way he presents information is crazy, he jumps around from topic to topic in a way that its impossible to have any understanding or organization of your notes unless you take alot of time to type them all out so they make sense.

Dr. Greenspan is extremely intelligent and he knows it. He also doesn't seem to like students very much. There were times that he told our whole class that we were all stupid and doomed to fail - at life. If he decides he doesn't like you (or anyone in you're class), you can forget about getting a decent grade, no matter how hard you work.

Wonderful in the sense that he knows A LOT. However, not very helpful in spreading his knowledge. Very careless, gives the impression he doesnt care about teaching. Another music professor who cant seem to grasp the concept of what education is. If he did, the class wouldnt be so bad.

His class dominates the real time that you need to have to practice. To get a good grade, YOU MUST MEMORIZE THE TEXT BOOK. Thats time consuming. Where did all my time go to become a better musician? And he gets rather ill tempered at times over misunderstandings.
