Great prof and a hella depth of knowledge in logic and philosophy. Some might find her repetitive because not everyone get it the first time (trust me). Course kit is amazingly cheap for a full year course. Would take it again with her.

I took the course as a gen. ed course, and to be honest I think my money and time would've been spent better elsewhere. I felt that her lectures would go all over the place. Don't expect to take any board notes - it's all verbal. I managed to write essays with minimal reading. I think she's nice though, but I won't take another class w her again.

Long lectures, boring material. The material is pretty hard and there's not a lot of resources if you don't get it.

Comment:
Take this class if you need an easy class to bump up your gpa. The professor explains everything clearly. The material is easy to understand. The unit on derivations was a bit tricky at first, but do the practice questions and you'll be fine. Once you get it, it's kind of fun. All other units were a breeze. Also the course kit was cheap.

Took her logical reasoning course and it was great, very interesting for a 1st year course. The material was hard but she is good at teaching it and very helpful. She is also very funny and interesting. Her explanations in the textbook are good to mediocre but if you ask her in person she is crystal clear.

Fun, approachable prof. Uses clever analogies to explain points, and she runs classes based on how students do on tests+assignments, so if the class is struggling, she'll take it slow. She may go of on tangents sometimes, but if nothing else, they're entertaining. She answers e-mails quickly and can always be found out of class to shoot the breeze

Comment:
Mind-numbingly boring class, repetitive. Astonishingly disorganized for a logic prof. Rambles and goes on tangents. Grading is definitely SUBJECTIVE and she does have favourites. Only good thing: She is passionate about logic, but there's more to being a good prof than that such as competence. Waste of time and money.

I had her for two courses, she was one of the nicest and caring professor that I've met at York. She really cares about her students and is always ready to listen to any concerns or problems. I personally had alot of fun in her class and would recommend her to anyone!!

She repeats herself and repeats herself and repeat herself. Also, she marks the paper depends on how she likes you; if you have a class with her check your paper and compare it with other students. You would be amazed how some people get mark for the same answer that you lost mark for it.

Those genuinely interested in Philosophy should not waste time and money on this course. You get more dollars' worth from other professors both at Glendon and Keele, guaranteed. If you want in-depth Locke, Descartes, Hume, Berkeley, Kant, etc., the lectures won't help at all. So you would be better off reading these philosophers on your own.

Gets sidetracked very easily. Class is so boring, I recommend bringing other work. But this could just be because this isn't my field of interest. Attendance is not at all neccessary in my opinion.

Comment:
Utterly repetitive. Criticism is highly discouraged (in a Philosophy course!). Lectures are unintersting, and also unrelated to essay questions, which means that attendance is pointless. Do not take this class.

She is a passionate and effective teacher. Highly approachable, clear in her presentation of material, and easy to "work with" if one is unclear as to what is required or expected in regards to marks. I wish she taught more in depth and advanced courses - the only real complaint I have is that she mostly teaches introductory classes.

Rigid about her views. But she is a VERY good professor.Very thorough and very patient. She didnt seem to get annoyed if she was asked questions that she had already previously answered and explained. If you go to class, theres no reason why you shouldnt do well.Shes very passionate about what she teaches. I only hope to find a prof with the same zeal!

average. a lot of personality. there's only two ways, her way and the wrong way...not always a good thing (if you want a better essay mark, think again...) I can't say that I enjoyed this teaching style overall, but it depends on the individual if you want your mark to depend on it.

Prof. Logan has a sense of humour and is polite and kind in her explanation. She gives you the benefit of the doubt and understand if you had a situation to deal with and in return is ready to assist if you need it.

her critical think class was hard. She did the best she could to ecplain it but I just did horribly on the tests. Her philophy classes are good. She's a good prof and is there if u need help. I would take another one of her classes.

Made a summer evening class fun. Used cartoons and Star Trek references to illustrate a point. Replies quickly to emails and tries to help. Her answers are sometimes not clear/confused. Average marker. But a great prof overall. I learned a lot!
