Comment:

Beth is one of the best professors I've taken in the art building. Design 2 (Art 1015) was really fun with her. There are only a few projects that you spend alot of time on so they are graded heavily. There is a quiz you take, and will have the chance to retake a couple times. She takes the highest score on the quiz. Projects are very diverse.

Beth is a very blunt professor. She'll tell you exactly what's on her mind, which is a respectable quality about her. She gives good feedback and if you consider her feedback, you'll improve. She is a tough grader, makes you earn a B, almost never gives out an A. Definitely would take her again.

She can be rude and put on an air of "hard core" in critiques, so beware of that. However, she is very clear about what she expects, and has a thorough syllabus. So is good to know where you and your work stand with her. Also, if she knows you are working hard, she'll work with you to help you succeed. Beware of lots of presentations and critiques.

She definitely wasn't easy, but she was extremely helpful in every way. She really has everyone thinking if art is what they want to do, and it assured me that it's what I want to do! An average in that class is around a C.. and she claims that that is normal. I made sure to never miss her class to show that I'm putting in effort.

Class makes you question your intent on becoming an art major. Imagine your hopes and dreams, then getting bootstomped by Beth. Fun class and all, unimaginably hard, but good experience. I definitely switched majors after realizing that a major in Grapic Design wasn't really for me.

she was impossible. i quit going to class a month before. which was the right choice to make, since i recently spoke to a friend who stuck it out the rest of the semester, and still has to re-take design 1. stick w/ beth if you're willing to pull all nighters at least once a week, re-do projects, and spend an excessive amount of money on supplies.
