I agree with the last rating posted on this professor: she is a nice lady, but don't take this class unless you have to. The subject matter is interesting, but her lectures are dull and monotonous. The two tests are super-specific to content she has taught during the lecture and there will be a 6-page paper to write.

Nice lady but I should have switched out when I had the chance. The readings are interesting but not enough to counter balance the dry lectures. The only tests are the midterm and the final which are want hyper specific answers to trivial aspects of the class / Bible. Do not take this class unless you have to

Hands down one of the best profs I've had at the UA. Has a deep interest for the material and will go out of her way to help students who show any interest. Some people complained that the lectures are boring, but they're really not if you're even a little interested in the material and don't come in with a bias. Lecs follow the book really well.

Class was hard, but interesting. Assignments are pretty easy and reasonable, but tests are HARD! Attendance not mandatory, but lectures are just her talking, so if you skip you miss material. I don't recommend this class due to exams, but Nakhai is very knowledgable and caring. If you take it, definitely go to office hours.

Good luck getting a high grade on the most important assignments in the class. She'll find anything to lower your grade on a writing assignment. The only good thing about her is that she is nice and wants to help you succeed. However, it's hard to really succeed in her class since she is the toughest grader I've had so far.

Such a dry class. Reads off slides and internet for entire class. Monotone voice makes the experience worse. I would 100% avoid this class. Shes a smart person but she is an AWFUL teacher.

Dr. Nakhai is really nice, and she is always willing to help, but her lectures are pretty boring. It's difficult to focus on them, but they are fairly important because she bases the exams on the information she covers in lecture. The textbook is helpful, but it's more important that you listen to her lectures.

Attendance is not mandatory, but I highly suggest you do go to class and take notes- this is more helpful than the textbook. Dr. Nakhai is very intelligent and a leading expert in her field. Although her lectures can get a little dry, she is a great professor and individual. I highly suggest utilizing her office hours and get to know her one-on-one

Comment:
Prof. Nakhai is very knowledgeable in her field, but does not understand people very well. Due to this, she often misunderstands questions brought up in class or points made in essays that are not super specific. Also, her lectures are uninteresting and dry and she does not use powerpoints to help. She is an excellent historian, but a poor teacher.

Easily one of the worst professors at U of A. Do yourself a favor and avoid her class AT ALL COSTS. This was the worst class I have ever taken in my three years of college because she is a horrible teacher and gives insanely hard tests. STAY AWAY!!

Dr. Nakhai is very nice and helpful if you utilize her office hours. However, she is very monotonous and it is very hard to pay attention in class. She assigns a lot of reading, but if you show up to class and pay attention, you won't need it. Take this class if you are good at learning on your own.

Comment:
Nakhai is nice, but is insanely boring and monotone. There's information bias for students who are affiliated with a biblical religion. I knew almost nothing about the Bible and thought time would be taken to explain properly. The large amount of religious students doesn't help make it clear to her that not everyone there already knows everything.

Dr. Nakhai is such a nice lady and I really loved her class! She's really approachable and funny, and her class is very relaxed. The tests are not hard, and there is just one big paper, and a couple little assignments. Not hard at all if you pay attention to her lectures. And you don't need the textbook! Everything you need you can get from lecture

Nakhai is smart, but some people are just not meant to teach. She is monotone and reads right from the Bible. Her tests are fair, but her paper-grading is harsh. Do not take this class unless you want to subject yourself to a very painful semester.

First of all I did not even buy the book, you dont need to...you can google it all. Her class is really boring and she just lectures off of a bible website. Also she doesnt round up so it you get a 79.25 or anything along those lines she wont give you the higher grade. I would avoid this class if possible.

Dr. Nakhai is super smart, funny, and approachable. Attendance isn't mandatory, but if you don't come you will be screwed on the tests (which I thought were pretty hard.) If you're not a good note taker or don't want to read 100 pages on Israeli history every night, not the class for you.

She is a good teacher, and she knows the material she is teaching. However, the Bible and Archeology class title is deceptive. If you are looking for a class to connect the Bible and archeology, this class somewhat does the opposite. If you don't mind having religious views challenged, then take the class. One midterm, one presentation, two papers.

Class was really interesting, but demanding. Tons of reading, and a lot of writing that piles on at the end of the semester. Spent more time on this class than any other. Dr. Nakhai is very intelligent; she speaks well and clear. The lectures, while long, are really good. 3 tests, 1 term paper, and 1 visit to synagogue. I would recommend it.

Dr. Nakhai is easily among the finest professors I've encountered at the UA. She is very knowledgeable, friendly, and humorous. I also feel she is very helpful to her students. I highly recommend her, but do make sure to attend and pay attention in class...the exams will come from the notes!
