This was the class in which I really learned how to write (he says as he loads his review with grammatical errors). Well, I learned to extreme-proofread anything I submitted to professor Salerno. I LOVED this class. I learned so much. Just do the readings and PROOFREAD YOUR PAPERS. She doesn't except garbage writing.

Prof. Salerno is a great human being and the hardest worker I know. She is brutally honest and will tell you if she thinks you aren't up to her standards. She is a stickler about procedure and has a very specific way of doing things, she is brilliant but she gives you soooo much homework and expects you to go on field trips during weekends.

New England History was right up my alley. I'm not a history major, so there was A LOT of reading to do for each class. She's wicked funny in her lectures and presents the material so it's easy to understand. Paper grading was okay, very easy to get a B if you apply yourself. If you had to do only some reading, at least read the books.

This professor demands you read and study the material. If you simply do what she asks on papers and exams you will fair well. Its OK to dissagree with her point of view, contrary to common belief. I found her to be a unique individual, but exremely approachable and helpful. Attend class!
