Amazing. She is simply amazing. I was intimidated at first, but she genuinely wants to see you succeed if you put forth the effort. She often offers opportunities to earn extra credit. Expect to work hard, but you can also expect to really learn from her lectures. Hands down, best professor that I had at Samford.

It's a tough class, but honestly she's the best teacher I've had here at Samford. Her tests are tough, but you come out with so much applicable knowledge. She is very willing to help and wants to see you succeed and understand the material. She's a great teacher and very expressive and passionate about what she's teaching. Loved her class.

Dr. Dobbins is by far the hardest professor I have ever had. I studied so much for this class and the grade did not reflect the work and time I put into this class. However, Dr. Dobbins was very willing to help out but I still did poorly in the class

I had Dr Dobbins for Human Physiology and she is by far the HARDEST professor I've ever had. A lot of people dropped the class but I think it was worth it to stick it out. I learned so much, and although I was not happy with my B+, I think I will be very prepared in future classes. The knowledge and study skills I got from her class are invaluable.

Extremely knowledgable on the subject matter but can get carried away at times. GREAT prof for anyone who is a Bio or science major, however she expects A LOT from a 100 level class in which no one is a Bio major. MUST follow along with the chapters in the book to do well.

Great professor!! You will have to work hard, but you will learn so much. One of the best professors at Samford and the class is so interesting. Make sure to go to class, read your book, and ask for help! But definitely take the class- you will be very prepared for all other classes.

Very passionate about the material (environmental science) but never tries to influence the students. She encourages you to figure out and justify your own opinion, as long as it makes sense and is consistent with reality. Great conversation/debate moderator. She'll respect you, treat you like an adult, and expect a lot

I took Human Biology for my gen ed requirement because I was interested in the subject matter. Dr. Dobbins is very challenging. If you are not scientifically-minded or do not have an interest in the material, do not take this class with her. A lot of work for a gen ed class. Do not skip her class or come late. Participate too: it goes a long way!!

Dr. Dobbins certainly doesn't dumb down the material- and she doesn't speak down to her students. I believe she expects us to work hard and wrestle and learn this stuff- she expects it- because she believes we can indeed do it. She gives us respect- and doesn't relent to our whimperings- when many professors would. I would love her as a mentor.

dobbins is really knowledgeable of the material but her tests are really hard! the first test is the worst.you have to understand concepts, not memorize.i failed the first test but still made an A in the class.she is a very lenient grader! She's an awesome teacher..just keep up with the reading!

Dr. Dobbins is very knowledgeable of the material but presents it as if you have had prerequisites to the class. Many people dropped out of my class and those who stuck it out struggled...class average: D! I'm sure the class will get better though...it was her first semester teaching it.
