She's a really awesome teacher and is very organized. She just has a lot of reading/listening to do, along with a lot of discussion boards. If you're good at doing homework, she's for you!!

Was not very understanding when I had a lot of Internet issues, I understand that its state in almost every syllabus how necessary it is for a good connection but I usually have a great connection. There were a few major storms a few days before the class began so I missed some deadlines because I could not log in, I was also unable to contact her.

Loved Dr Meinz. Very difficult class but she genuinely wants her students to succeed. Gives great feedback and walks you through your paper writing. Only complaint is that she relies too much on the TAs who 2/3 don't know anything.

This is a class that other departments should pattern themselves after. The class teaches you about all the fields of psychology and what you can possibly do with your degree whether you want to go to grad school or not. There is instruction on resumes, cover letters, curriculum vitae, letters of recommendation and much more. Kudos to Psych!

I took this class in the 3 week summer semester. It was the best choice ever. Dr. Meinz is very helpful and really nice. We had quizzes daily and she also crammed a partner project in the three weeks. It kept me very busy but I learned a lot.

Dr. Meinz is a nice teacher. Her main goal is for her students to learn the material and she makes sure of that. But the work load in this class is huge, too much for a lower level psych class. We have to read the book and watch hour-long online lectures for every chapter. We are assigned in groups and I dont like it. Dont skip class. Ever.

This, by far, is the greatest teacher I have ever had. She has made me for work her class and I still love it. I have learned and retained more in this class than anything else. Stay on her good side, be respectful, and she can open many doors for you in the psych department at SIUE! If you have a passion for psych, she will know! :) take her asap!

Loved this class! Some material is difficult but Dr.Meinz is great at explaining it with examples that are interesting and fun. The class is based on 6 quizzes, 2 exams, and small in class exercises. A lot of extra credit is given as well. Definitely recommend!

I really enjoyed this class. Some difficult material, but that's expected and Dr. Meinz is always willing to clear up anything you're not understanding of. Great teacher, great person. I love the methods she uses - all of her examples and doing group quizzes after a single quiz. Attend class to do inclass exercises.

Nice, but selective about the students she wants to "deal with". She definitely has her picks. Not very helpful, confusing, and tests are way too long. I found myself rushing through the tests, which led to lower grades than what I'm used to.Go to class! With all said, I did learn something that I feel will help later.

You will work very hard in this class. Knows her material, however is confusing and gives several examples, never clear on which to use for what. Has no mercy for personal issues. Stictly by the books teacher, militant.

Although the subject matter didn't always interest me, I loved Dr. Meinz. Everything was very organized and explained thoroughly. Obviously reading and outlining the chapter before class is a huge help, which I would recommend. The writing assignments can be annoying, but that's my only complaint. Great professor!

Dr. Meinz is a likable person. Having said that she is not particularly helpful outsided of class and takes a long time to respond to email. She knows Cog but doesn't go beyond teaching theory, you never learn how to apply it so beware the MC tests. Near daily 2 min writing assigns can frustrate if you care about writing at all.

Classes may not be easy, as she has alot of assignments that are time-consuming and not worth a lot of points gradewise, but you definitely learn alot in her classes, and can see how the assignments were important to that learning.

Good class - alot of technical information which can be tricky, but she's very good about helping students. Very fast responses to emails and willing to meet outside of class to discuss the material. Extra credit was awarded throughout the semester and quizzes were weekly. The material was kind of tough, but if you stick with it - you're good.
