Wrote for the Cleveland Stater for 2 semesters with her.. it's a lot of work but she is very fair. If you put the work in you will be fine. If you get to layout late in the day when everything's practically done or you don't submit your stories by deadline then she may rightfully have a problem with you as it impacts the entire class.

Absolutely loved her and really enjoyed the class. You can tell she has a lot of experience and loves what she does, she really wants her students to do well. You'll write 5 formal news stories but can rewrite them to improve your grade. 60% of your grade is in class assignments that you can't make up if you miss so make sure you attend class!

I really liked Prof. Clapp this semester. She's totally cool and really cares about how well you do in her class. She offers re-writes if you do poorly on papers and she knows her stuff. She was a pleasure to have and I really learned in her class. (No final exam or midterm!)

Betty Clapp is amazing. Had a really annoying kid in class who wanted to talk the whole time to show off his reading comprehension and she always called him out on it. She's hilarious and is only really mean to those who deserve it.

Had her in Fall 2010 for this class and overall she's excellent professor, need to attend class to be able to follow where she is coming from. One of the best when it comes to Journalism-project ideas are amazingly creative. Sit close talks low. Had her several times before and this class was different and not on par with her usual excellence.

I took this class to fulfill a WAC. She wasn't very nice. She made fun of people for not knowing answers. She neglected to mention in the course description that we would be required to go to events outside of class time. I hated the class.

hard teacher but you learn. she wants you to do well and you can tell she loves what she teaches. you do have to work hard and come to class but she will help you succeed. you can re-do poor assignments for a higher grade.

Professor Clapp is one of the best professors I've ever had. She doesn't let you get away with not doing your work and yes she can be a bit rough around the edges at times but her biggest mission is to make sure you understand that the field of journalism isn't all fun and games you have to work hard and sometimes go on assignments you don't want
