Comment:

Professor Durrer was a pretty good in general. She gave out a lot of handouts to practice the material and the class content in general is really easy. She only uses 4 tests to determine your grade but you can go to her office during the test to talk about confusing material, which is really nice. Overall, good class.

Comment:

I took this class for the GenEd like most and I got a C, which was a blessing. She curves the overall and there're plenty of opportunities for extra credit. The teaching is solid and understandable and she packages everything very well. There are plenty of handouts that also really help. Take her over all the other math gen ed options.

The only thing graded were the tests. She assigns homework which I did extremely well on but the tests are really difficult. If you don't do well on tests then you probably won't pass.

Tests did not match material covered in class. She admitted that she did not know what was on the test because she "hadn't looked at it in a while." This was the week before the test! She is a nice lady, but it is not easy to get above a C in this class! I would not take another class with her as the instructor.

Prof Durrer is the absolute best math teacher I have ever had. I'm really sad that she won't be teaching Calculus I. Her explanations are very clear and she is happy to repeat information. The homework isn't mandatory, but if you understand the homework you can ace the tests. I highly recommend taking her for Precalc.

I was AWFUL at finite math, but Durrer was actually the professor to design the course in the first place! She's very sweet and energetic, which is good for her early morning classes! You usually get out early, too. She can be fast paced, but ask questions and DO THE EXTRA CREDIT...that is how I passed the class. Otherwise, do the homework!

Do the homework and ask questions. She is more than willing to help and really cares that you do well. If you study, you can do well. Her tests can be hard if you don't fully understand the material, so if you are confused about something make sure to ask.

Professor Durrer is so sweet--she understands that most people taking finite aren't math people, which is refreshing for a gen ed class. She's super helpful if you ever don't understand, but the lecture is so crystal clear you hardly ever need to ask questions. She's a great person and an excellent professor.

Pre-calc=elective so proceed with caution! She's interested in her subject and she's always willing to answer questions (up to you if you'll understand the material or not.) NEVER got to use a calculator tho she always said we would, "but not yet!", even said this the day before the final exam. to stand any fighting chance you better have a txtbook

TAKE HER for finite math!! She is so clear with all the material and really does make it easy! Also, on the tests she gives partial credit for everything! even multiple choice questions if you show your work!! Easy gen ed credit!!

She is so sweet and tries so hard to make math interesting. But basically it's a boring class and no one goes. 4 tests total, no homework (no one does it at least), and she's really nice. Tests were easy and it's an overall easy class. She gives points if you just try.
