Comment:

This was such a Hard History class to get through. It is an Easy A, with no tests or participation necessary. All you have to do is the homework assignments which are long readings with essay questions and show up to class. She uses no powerpoints or visual and has a one tone way of talking. Extremely boring class.

She was one of the worst professors I have ever encountered. I don't know why they let her teach. The only reason I learned anything was because she assigned 3 twenty page papers for the senior seminar. If you want a writing boot-camp. There is no other class like it. Your writing will be much improved. Not for the faint of heart.

Lectures are long and painful and half the class would be sleeping after the first 10 minutes. She gave us two different papers to write and I consider myself a pretty good writer and I received a C on both. The final exam was so easy though, she gave us a study guide and the test was exactly the same as the study guide.

I had high hopes for her class, but damn if she didn't dash them against the wall. She's utterly unclear about what she wants for her final research paper which BTW she says you can't use secondary sources on, and she actually almost never taught our class. Every class was a new group presentation. I'm not kidding, no really, do NOT take her class!

DO NOT TAKE HER! SHE IS THE WORST PROFESSOR I'VE HAD SO FAR! The best part about the class was my TA (Sarah Robey). Sarah did an excellent job teaching; much better then the professor. You can only miss two classes before you lose points and the lectures are SOOOO boring. DON'T TAKE HER!

WORST PROF EVER! Her lectures are ridiculous. Sooooo boring and I never learned a thing. For being a "race and ethics in american history" professor, she sure left out a lot. She only teaches about African-American history. If that's your thing, she's for you. I dare you not to go crazy though. DO NOT TAKE HER CLASS!

Retire. This teacher is, on the one hand, one of the sweetest people you'll ever meet. On the other hand, she is completely crazy and out of her mind. "The reason that the Americans dropped the bomb on Hiroshima was because of race. Why didn't they drop it on Germany instead?" THEY DIDN'T HAVE IT THEN!!!! Completely out of her mind.

A complete waste of time. She seems to feel attacked when asked a question and changes subject instantly. She singles people out if they email her instead of the TA's. She is totally lazy and rambles about complete nonsense in her southern country accent, be prepared to constantly hear her classic quote after every sentence....YOU SEE

WORST teacher I have ever had. You rely on the teaching assistants to teach you during discussion because collier Thomas is never on subject, but they grade very unfairly. The assistant would think of things she wanted included in assignments AFTER they were turned in, and grade you based on what she came up with.

Exams came directly from study guides. Assigned a 15-page research paper with virtually no directions about writing it, and did not provide any more specific directions when asked for them. Goes off on tangents in the middle of her lectures, making them hard to follow. I would've taken a different RS class if I knew she was going to be that vague!

long, boring lectures....easy exams tho: EXACTLY the same as the study guides she gave us...goes off on random tangents...had 15 page paper that was very unclear: we had to email/talk among the class several times to see what was actually due...i would take her and just sleep through class if all the exams are gonna be the same as the study guides

At first i hated her, i hated the concept of her "Just another black teacher preaching about how awful white people were" But then i got to know her and she really is quite intellectual. Her work is minimal yet if you participate in class you'll get a good grade. I walked out with an A!

Unreasonable teacher, doesn't listen to what her students say. If she is making a point, and you show evidence that disproves her point, she ignores it completely.
