If you have her as a tutor, switch ASAP. shes rude and really dosnt help at all. She has a rude mannor, her "brain storming" ideas are more like a circus tent. She dosnt like you to ask her questions about apa or mla style citations. I saw her three times about the same paper she didnt help me at all! Just switch do yourself a favor

Takes a while to warm up to her, she has an elementary school teachers style of teaching.But, easy class, easy grading, & I learned alot about research methods, libray tools,effective research techniques,etc.. She is serious about how you spell her name, but other than that, her grandma persona makes for an easy class and quick GPA boost.

Prof VERY condensending and is stuck in women-rights era of the '60s and has not modernised self, nor "teaching" methods. Even though a generic writing course, biased, prof-selected readings were very, VERY Feminist-orientated with plenty of male-bashing.

A good course for beginner research, but could have easily been a half-year. Beverley is very condescending and her marking gets increasing harder as the course progresses. She's a stickler for grammar and she won't hesitate to give you a failing mark in her little assignments. Try not to get her tutorial. Get Mike.

I didn't learn anything in this class. If it wasn't a required course, i wud've dropped it. I stopped going to the lectures cuz they were useless. The asgmts are a waste of time. I hated the annotated bibliographies. She is a very hard marker.

Hated the class. The readings weren't connected to the material we covered, the material wasn't connected to the assignment. Nothing made sense in this course. She was very rude when her grading scheme was questioned. Didn't like her at all. The course was easy but because of her it was a waste of time.

She didn't even research for lectures, she just took stuff randomly off York's website for some reason. Uses catch phrases like "postmodern" ad nauseam to disguise the fact that she's out of date. Overwhelmingly boring and you'll stay awake only to count misquotations (eg. MARX).

Never had her as a prof, but i did have her as a tutor in the academic writing centre. I don't like her teaching approach and she always makes you feel stupid. My essay marks went up drammatically when i stopped using her "assistance" she has no business tutoring!

If you need to learn the game of "essay writing" this is the class to take. Very intensive but it's worth the effort. Great professor, communicates ideas well, lets others express.
