Comment:
Beverly shows sincere interest in her students as people. She has extensive knowledge of her areas of study and of life itself and always made herself available. Her lectures were suprisingly refreshing and insightful. She challenged me to become more observant and diligent and inspired me to some of my best writing. One of my favorite teachers.

Comment:
Professor Allen is obviously knowledgable . Yet, she lacks the ability to help out her students without having a condescending tone. Though her class(es) are interesting, they are hard and she is unhelpful. She expects way too much from her students, and has a hard time remembering one on one important issues with her students.

Comment:
She is rude to the students. She is very full of herself. Her teaching doesn't really venture outside of what is in the book. If you can avoid taking her do it. While she has the qualifications to teach being in her class I feel as if I haven't learned anything that I couldn't have already found in the book.

I have taken 2 courses (World Literature and Italian Cinema) and will forever tell my children about Professor Allen. I recommend taking ANY class with her before you graduate, or you will forgo meeting a brilliant, accomplished, and ENGAGING professor. Be prepared to defend your thought processes. You will leave class wanting to be more like her.

Professor Allen was without a doubt the best professor I had at Syracuse University. Her class is no piece of cake, but it challenges you to think outside of the box and enhances your creativity. Her passion and love for her students reminds me of Professor John Keating (Robin Williams) in Dead Poets Society and I highly recommend her. J Costa '09

I'm not sure what # the course was...but the course is called World Literature. Usually she only teaches upper level literature courses, but I was fortunate enough to have her in a lower division english course because now...i've decided to minor in ETS (english textual studies). She's amazing. She loves the socratic method and loves to involve
