This was the course listed for NMUN, for Fall 2018. Dr. D is an amazing professor, but it can be a little difficult to please her with the work you produce. Be prepared to drop a letter grade or half of one upon entering her class.

Apparently does not know how to teach and still expects a lot from you. Tough grader and not very assessable professor. Do not take classes with this professor.

Took two classes with this lady PSC 353 & IRP 412. Creative academic writing does not exist. If you dont meet her requirements and what she wants. You'll get a C or worse guaranteed. In PSC 353 everything you studied, never appeared on the exams. A great person but as an academic this lady is cutthroat. Participation system decreases grade Beware!

Literally the worst professor on the planet! Her attendance policy is ridiculous basically meaning you can never miss class for an illness unless you have the black plague and even then you gotta show up. I'm convinced she wants every student to fail because even if you study as much as you can for her exams you'll still fail. Don't take this class

Comment:
Dr. D's class has a horrible participation system that brings down everyones grade because it encourages students to ask unnecessary questions simply for the purpose of raising their grades. She also tends to quiz students on content that she created that isn't in the actual textbook, making studying next to impossible.

She ran my IR capstone program in 2015 and was incredibly rude. If you arent in her capstone class she is disorganized and unhelpful. She is snarky in email response and in person. She does not give a rubric and is very anal about minor details that dont matter she wouldnt give clear rubrics for formatting but wont pass you if you miss them.

- Lectures were far too liberally biased, I'm a Conservative and Realist - Opposite perspectives were hardly ever explained - You learn more about the UN than anything else - Touched upon real issues, like terrorism and conflict, for one class and development and the environment for two weeks. - Came off as entitled - I do not recommend Dr. D

She's a great teacher and always answers your question. If you are genuinely interested in the IR major she will help you understand the concepts better and help you succeed. If you study for the tests, participate and attend class you will receive an A.

Ok Dr. D is pretty awesome. She really helped reinforce the major path I was on, her class was super interesting. But she is tough, you can't expect to not do work and pass. She's wonderful and I would so recommend this class. But you can only take PSC124 with her if you are in the IRLC

I only had Dr. D for one class but she was also my advisor. As an advisor this woman is amazing! Truly interested in helping students and will take hours out of her day to work with students to ensure they get a great undergrad experience and focus on areas not only of interest to them but of use to their career in the future. Dr. D works hard to ensure hard working students are successful. If you are looking to slide by on a class, I suggest you change majors or possibly even schools!

Dr. D is wonderful and sweet, but you do NOT want to take this course with her. Her quizzes are insane, and she grades participation everyday, and it's impossible to get higher than 7/10. She makes this 100 level course as difficult as a 400 level course and blames it on you for not trying, when really it's IMPOSSIBLE to succeed in this class.

Her quizzes are insane, multivariable calculus tests were easier for me. The worst thing about her is that she cannot handle criticism when she is wrong. She once did a supply/demand curve wrong and I asked her about it.. she flipped out #THEWORST

Dr. D is great! I'm really surprised by all the negative reviews, this is one the easiest classes I have ever had. As long as you take the time to really study the study guide you can get an A on the quizzes.

The character limit on this will not allow me to speak about how terrible this class is with her. She can make IR fun and easy, but SHE DOESN'T. SHE CHOOSES TO MAKE IT DIFFICULT AND IMPOSSIBLE. I'm in Whitman and this is the most difficult class I've ever taken. Just don't take it with her. I heard Northrup, Klotz and Rupert are good.

Comment:
This professor has an extremely unfair teaching method. She grades participation every day, so unless she likes you it's impossible to get a good grade. Her quizzes are impossible and I don't feel comfortable speaking in her class. She offers a lot of extra credit but somehow it seemed to lower my grade. DISAPPOINTMENT

You can get an A, if you take notes and study EVERYTHING that is on study guide. If you re lazy, you will fail. She is a good teacher. Good thing is that I learned how to study. I got an A for the semester.
