I recommend taking every class she offers (for your major). She's awesome. No textbooks, no homework. Her tests are exactly the same as the lecture notes she gives. She even will offer extra credit opportunities a few times if you need it, but more than likely you won't. Just remember EVERYTHING she says from lecture.

Comment:

Dr. Burden is amazing! She's really attentive to her students and by mid semester knows everyone's name and has recognized something unique about them. Her tests are super easy it's all based on memorization. She won't ask you anything that she didn't say in class, I promise! She tells little side jokes with her lectures to help you remember them.

She makes lectures very interesting but your semester grade will only be based on 4 exams, so make sure you make good grades on them. All multiple choice. Take really good notes because you will need them and they are a lot to study. Also, don't let her see you use your phone, she tends to be restrictive with a lot of things. Overall, good teacher!

SHE IS AMAZING! Her pre lab lectures make it so easy to understand concepts from lecture and exactly what you will be doing in lab. Her pre-lab quizzes come STRAIGHT from the lab manual, and she does NOT give a final! way better than the other options for lab professors. I cannot wait to take Microbio with her! I just wish she taught more classes!

You have a quiz every week over the stuff the week before but she puts her ppts on moodle so there's no reason not to make an A or B. Labs never last the full 3 hours. I think our longest one was 2. Love this class and love this professor. Also the textbooks is NOT needed.

Probably my favorite Science teacher at LSUS. Her four total tests come straight from the notes and she gives you a review right before each test. No book needed. She's amazing.

You have to really study for this class, but test questions come straight from the notes NO BOOK REQUIRED! If the majority of the class misses a certain question she'll give everyone those points. She tossed out like 3 questions every test! She's very fair and interesting. I loved taking this class overall.

Super helpful and funny! She keeps the class interesting with random funny stories about her husband or about her radio show. Tests are all based on lecture, no textbook! yay! saved money! The lab is fairly easy, her quizzes require lots of study but you can do well :)

LOVE HER. I dislike science ever since childhood. She makes the class very interesting and fun. She is really into her job which makes it exciting to see how she responds to certain topics. As long as you take good notes and study you will pass the class. Dr. Burden is a big kid and a GREAT teacher. I would recommend taking her.

For a non-biology major, Dr. Burden made the class fun and easy to understand for me. I took her for a summer class and it was sort of fast pace but believeably easy. Good notes is a must but Love her class. Highly recommended.

Dr. Burden requires you to be in class and no cell phones on but if you can deal with that she is very, very helpful with anything else. Gets straight to the point and actually helps you, as a teacher should, understand the basic concepts of the subject. She will not waste your time. Also fuuny at times.

She is an amazing teacher who makes this course fun and enjoyable. She demands respect so do not cut up in her class. I think she is very knowledgeable and makes this non major course alot of fun. There is no power point just fifty minutes of lecture that seems more like a stand up comedy routine than a lecture. Highly recommend

I had her for class and lab and she was great. She def. loves what she teaches. Take really good notes and just study notes thats all she will test from. You do not need the text or lab manual at all for this class. study and take good notes and go to all classes and you will get at least a B

i liked her alot. she does tend to start something and not finish but it usually isnt that important when she does that. she is funny and she tries to keep things simple for the non bio majors. i recommend her to anybody!
