I loved her children's literature class so much. She grades relatively critically on essays, but not unfairly. She definitely is incredibly knowledgeable about the material she is teaching and gives very entertaining lectures. I would definitely reccommend.

Her Children's Lit class was my absolute favorite through my whole career at Wheaton. As long as you talk in class and do a decent try at the daily journals, there isn't much to passing her class. Open to new ideas, encourages respectful discourse and criticism.

Bev is an amazing professor and person. She is so passionate about every class she teaches. She is also very willing to meet with you and talk or advise. She wrote two recommendations for me, to go abroad and grad school, and I was able to do both! If you put in the work and do the reading, you'll get a lot out of her classes.

She is such a nice lady and is always there for you academically but also outside of the class with personal problems if it is affecting your grade or your work. I had problems outside of the class room and was going through a lot and she helped me work through balancing the work load and my own life outside of the class. She is my favorite prof!

Prof. Clark is extremely underrated. As long as you do the reading and participate in class, you'll be fine. She encourages everyone to make comments. The only downside of her class is the moderately heavy amount of reading she assigns and the fact that it is extremely difficult to get an A on papers. She's very enthusiastic and clear.

well, if you are an international student, please be cautious to take her class. she has her favorites--American students! if you are a chinese student, never take her class! she has preconception of china and chinese education.Maybe she is not a hard grader for american students, but she is very strict with chinese students.

She was always willing to help, but the advice received was sometimes wrong. The assignments were really general and did not teach me anything. The class consisted only of reading textbook chapters about types of essays, then trying our own, but we never learned about english. This class felt like a middle school course on general grammar.

Took her children's lit class- what a great professor. Not a lot of graded assignments (only a final, midterm, and 2 papers) but she is the best professor ever. She is very passionate about Children's literature and really knows her stuff.

She is really smart, just like the rest of the English department at Wheaton. I dont really remember anything about her class itself (Children's Lit sem). However, I do still think about a lot of the themes we discussed in the class, because of the relevancy to our culture. I took the class 3 years ago.

I took Clark for Children's Lit and it was one of the biggest mistakes of my college career. DO NOT take her class if you are an English major. It is not intellectually stimulating and she acts like she is God's gift to academia.

I actually love her lectures because they are so well thought out. But mixes it up so it's not a lecture everyday. Engaging personality, yet somehow isn't about the personal connection. She's actually quite funny, I've never laughed in a lecture before- but she has a way of making everyone laugh, and really wants to hear your voice.

Her class was extremely interesting, her notes, yes, may be old, but good and proficient. Knowledgeable, excited about her field, shares her excitement with students. Examples of books read in the class: Alice in Wonderland, The Giver, Roll of Thunder Hear My Cry, Charlotte's Web, among many other childhood favorites. I highly recommend this class!!

Extremely knowledgable, interested in thought-provoking conversation, does not give A's easily, which is great when you finally get an A. I've used some of her activites on my high school students.
