Professor Conway was my English 101 professor, and after coming out of hs with amazing, inspiring english teachers, I was incredibly disappointed. She is extremely argumentative, and makes it very clear who she likes in the class. She is very traditional in her beliefs, and the course itself did not focus on what the title included. Really bad.

I am appalled by how Conway thinks she can treat students: disrespectfully, gives unclear directions, is hypocritical, says she can offer help but turns her back on you (literally) when you go to see her. She does not give you any written instructions, therefore, she allows herself to be hypocritical, leaving you baffled and stressed.

I had her for English 101. We wrote about 10 papers during the semester-with lots of drafts-most were between 2 and 5 pages, so not too bad. The class is heavily discussion based so make sure you do the readings. She is very approachable and wants you to succeed. If she makes corrections on your papers, make sure you fix them and you will do fine.

Professor Conway was a great choice for an English 101 professor. She has helpful guidelines for work and is lenient enough on paper drafts and due dates. She helps pull everyone in to participate and encourages you to look up vocabulary and any topic you may not understand. She also tries to be modern and funny, which is endearing.

Professor Conway was one of my favorite English professor at Wheaton. She had an unparalleled knowledge of her subject matter and it was fun to just listen to her lecture when she did. But, her classes are much more discussion based. I had her for my senior seminar which was simply amazing.

Professor Conway is one of the best, most motivational and inspiring professors I've ever had. The critical thinking, reading and writing skills she taught me has been incredibly valuable in my career. She challenges you to use your brain and think differently. Take any class she offers - you'll thank yourself for years to come...... I know I have!

Grades are assigned based on whether or not she likes you. She is the only person who could ever make Hamlet boring to a theatre major. Does not accept or understand criticism. Says **** things, yet claims to be a feminist. You can tell that she was a good professor once, but has lost her touch.

I can't believe this woman is the head of the English department.She is a terrible professor- disorganized, stubborn, rude, and cannot for her life accept anyone else's opinion as correct. She graded our papers with stickers, not grades. Avoid any of her classes. She is always unprepared and rambles on and on all class. I learned nothing from her.

Katherine Conway is the best teacher I've ever had, college or otherwise. That's because she doesn't just read from her lesson plan and wait until the class is over. She engages students and relates the material to their interests. It's clear that she's passionate about teaching and her students.

The 1st yr sem I had with her was erratic. Her syllabus was a technicality, since we constantly deviated from it. Most of the time, the material was not pertinent to the course description. She mocked students, occasionally making them cry. To this day, I am still in awe that she was once chair of the dept. I would avoid taking her classes.

Really needs to work on clarity of her courses. It is shocking that she is the head of the department! She never keeps on track with the readings even her syllabus is incoherent.I'm sure she is a great writer and she seems intelligent but teaching is not her strong point.I didn't learn anything from her.I would not reccomend her courses!!!

Very disorganized, comes to class unprepared, does not teach, ever. I learned nothing that I didn't teach myself in this class. Syllabus might be impressive, but has unrealistic amount of work, not to mention the fact that more than half of the readings aren't mentioned in class! Not up to par for a Wheaton professor.
