She is not that bad, but she is old school and expects independent inquiry and not rote learning. I had her for embryology which is a very fun class. She required no make-work projects like lab notebooks ect, however she is not for entry level students as she does not hold your hand at any point.

she's a really nice lady but not a great instructor. Her teaching style is all over the place and you never really know what to expect on her exams and lab practicals. I found the lab practicals extremely difficult because she was never really clear with what she wanted. I don't recommend taking her.

She was horrible. Like someone else said Tayna was very nice and helpful, but Bev was horrible. She treated us like little children and always changed her mind on how she wanted assignments done. I got a B because I never knew how she wanted the assignments. All I can say is TAKE TAYNA!!

I actually really liked her. Embryology is a tough subject, so if you take it be prepared to study hard...It wouldn't matter who you took it from. For the lower reconsider your major if you didn't get a good grade from her.

In the hands on lab, tanya the other teacher was super nice and really a great teacher, but Dr. Marcum is an idiot! She doesn't let her students in on her expectations of them and that stupid journal! For get the biology part of the H.O.L and if you liked it at all you wont after this.

For Hands on Lab, this class sucked. she was disorganized, didnt tell us her expectations until 3 weeks into class, then wanted a rubric after journals were turned in b/c she didnt like them. I hated going to class. take HOL math if you can avoid her.

Didn't get what I wanted out of the class, she doesn't really focus much on fundamentals, only obscure facts that you'll forget. I felt kind of deprived in the end....Shes a good teacher, but I wouldn't recommend if you think embryology sounds like an interesting class to take.
