Comment:

Okay the only negative about her is her accent, but for this class its not really a problem. She is an extremely caring person and will make SURE you know it before you leave, is available all the time, and gives lots of extra credit/second chances. She goes very slowly, no textbook required, 5 HW assignments, midterm/final are slightly difficult

Very difficult material on the way that she teaches it. I learned the most by working with other student on the reviews/assignments together and studying. Shes hard to understand but shes actually pretty funny

Dr. Basu was hard to understand at times, but she was funny and is always there for you. Out of all of the Econ classes offered to me, I heard that the Econ 203 offers through her is the easiest.

Basu was never available to access for her students and she is not easy to speak with at all. She grades hard and only offers extra credit for certain situations. Very unfair and unprofessional teacher.

She gets easier to understand as you are in the class. Not sure what really happened in the class but the final was wayy harder than any of the tests. She lets you use your phone on tests so take pictures of notes and homework and you will be fine. She takes attendance but ends class early. easy enough with little work.

This class was rough. It was in the online format so you're basically teaching yourself except for a few online videos that she posts. The class had 6 quizzes that you took at home and then 4 exams that are proctored. That's your grade plus some extra credit. I would not reccommend taking this course unless you have prior knowledge of Economics.

The class is made up of 5 homework assignments and 2 exams and a final. The exams are based off the homework so study the homework and you will do good. Extra credit is provided on all homework assignments and exams. I have over 30 extra credit point. GO TO OFFICE HOURS SHE WILL GIVE YOU ANSWERS!

She is very nice and considerate of her students. She does have a bit of an accent but you get used to it. She lets you use your phone on the exams so take pictures of previous homeworks and you'll be fine. Lectures are quite heavy but you get out early. She also bumps your grade up a lot at the end if you've showed up for class everytime.

So hard to understand with her accent. When you ask for help it seems to be more confusing. Not only did everything seem disorganized but if you get one bad grade on homework or exam then good luck getting a good grade. There is little grading criteria and hard to earn points back. Worst professor I've had yet.

This was the worst professor I have ever had to deal with. She scheduled an exam over spring break which basically made me fail the class. She does not make herself clear on an online format. She does not respond to emails and ignores them. Also, beware that she might change the syllabus mid semester. Stay away from her, you will fail.

Failed 10 out of 15 students in the program for no apparent reason, in the last lecture instead of giving review of the exam she gave lecturing of how students are not qualified for the program, she gave the exam earlier to the exam week of four days, some students had A before the final exam then they got F.

Dr. Basu was odd. She was funny, but her lectures only went about 30 minutes, then you're done. She stutters a lot, and has a "Hard accent" but its easy to understand, unlike most. Everyday printed lectures, 3 tests, 5 hw's, go to office hours, and receive 100's on them. Exams are iffy lots of graphs. EC for hw's. Kinda rude, messes up grades alot

As long as you follow the class lecture and listen to her you will do fine. She makes lecture notes for each day to print off. If you read through them and follow along with the class you'll be straight. The answers to the homework are in each packet It's not a very hard class, and she makes it enjoyable and she cracks funny on liners a lot.

You'll get 5 homework assignments and 2 tests all semester, plus the final. While she drops the lowest homework score, they all still matter, and you should put effort into the questions to make sure they're right, or your grade will plummet. Tests and Homework are multiple choice, and short answer. Other than that, nice teacher who knows her stuff

Absolutely loved this professor. She explained things clearly in her lecture despite her accent. Provides a lot of extra credit and tests come straight from the homework. She cracks jokes and makes class enjoyable. Very easy to get an A if you do the homework and go to lectures but you can easily pass without attending class!

She is a very helpful teacher, i would strongly suggest you go to her office hours every week to go over the homework with her and that will almost guarantee an A in her class. Exams are same questions from the homework.
