Literally the worst professor I've had at Cornell. Has no idea what she's talking about, reads directly off the slides with her back to you. Very rude to students would ultimately make fun of us when we did poorly on her quizzes on material she never taught. Went into her half of the class with an A+ somehow left with an A- after her final.

Good Class. Just make sure to do all the old exams and memorize her lecture slides and an A is easy

barely went to any lectures. studied the slides thoroughly and read the relevant parts in the textbook, went over 2-3 past prelims, i ended up with an A. material interesting, her prelims involve lots of lab techniques so look at those closely. she seems like a nice lady outside.

Her actual exams are VERY little like the practice exams she gives out. Don't be lulled into a false sense of security based on them! This is a very difficult course. However, if you do research for her, she'll give you a FANTASTIC rec letter. Otherwise, difficult course. Worked my butt off for an A-.

DONOT TAKE THIS CLASS. Not hard but extremely boring. I loathed studying for this course because of how boring it was. Most of this is due to her poor lecturing skills.

Approachable however as pointed out multiple times, not the best teacher. However, if you know everything on the slideshows/read related parts in the textbook AND practice with the old prelims, getting an A is rather easy.

I think she'd rather be somewhere else than lecturing 332. Lectures were clear, exams were fair. Despite all the negative comments, I found that getting an A in this course was not impossible.

Professor Tye's lectures were so boring and I fell asleep in almost all of them, even though I went faithfully. I never fall asleep in classes, but this class was so boring. Prof. Tye tried, but it wasn't enough to make this material interesting. She seems nice though.

the WORST professor at Cornell. Her exams are all about DNA gels, which are not covered anywhere in her lectures or the book. Her english is crap, she talks with a thick accent, she talks fast, and half the time she forgets the english word and says "uhh" instead. Real helpful, lady. Just buy the powerpoint packet and study old prelims.

She is an embarassment to this university. Easily the worst teacher I have ever encountered. Her powerpoints are unhelpful and her lectures are incomprehensible and extraordinarily frustrating. The book is good, but she frequently asks questions about details that do not appear in the book, nor in her lectures. Unequivocally awful.

Absolutely abysmal. One of, if not THE worst teacher I have ever encountered. Her lectures are terrible, her tests are nitpicky, unclear, and trivial. Don't go to lecture, it's a lesson in frustration. Read the book.

I really liked Bik Tye. It was sometimes really hard to follow her lectures, but her expectations were clear: if you know what's on the slideshow, you get an A. You don't need to know anything else but her slides, and she doesn't try to trick you with her questions on exams. She's also a reall nice person.

This prof is very unclear and unhelpful. The lectures are a total waste of time. She presents slides randomly and makes very very few comments about each slide before going on to the next slide. (Most of the time, she just reads the text on a slide and moves on.) Don't bother with going to her lectures--just read the textbook at home.

Quite possiblt thw worst prof I have ever had, she should be banned from teaching. On our first prelim, where everyone (almost a hundred people) but one kid had gotten one question wrong, she ridiculed us, telling us it was easy and we were stupid for not getting it

Absolute worst professor. She is incoherent, rambles through her slides and gives the hardest exams. Says "errr" and "uhhh" a lot, annoying! Less than half the class attends lecture. Why is she still teaching??

Professor Tye is the worst professor I have had at Cornell University. She just reads from the powerpoints, but she reads way too quickly because she assumes everyone has printed the slides. Her notes often contradict themselves and are confusing.

She is the most dreadful prof I've ever had. Her lectures and problem sets are erratic and her exams are totally unrelated to them. Her questions are extremely ambiguous. It is a shame that a world class institution could be plagued by such an impurity. Take BBM 330!!!!
