Comment:
Bomberger is a good guy. He knows what he is talking about, and completely fleshes out all the material. However, this has the disadvantage of easily losing students and leading to disengagement. I often did not know what was being discussed despite full attention and stellar performance in all other econ classes. Study often, and focus hard.

I don't know why others have said that he is boring, I have found his lectures engaging and informative. Examples make sense and he explains theories and graphs wonderfully. The class was challenging but if you come to class, take notes, and read on what he lectures, you should get a good grade. Multiple choice qs are difficult but not impossible.

Made A's in all previous Econ and Biochem classes and electives. Got slaughtered in his class, most likely making a C. Boring, and tests were very difficult. Honestly even now, I don't know how to prepare. Go to every class, read notes, and go to office hours I guess. You're going to have to go all out to do well. Wouldn't take again.

This is probably the most boring class you will ever take and he makes it unbearable. He is very vague on what is happening. He tells you there is a curve but there isn't and grades exams hard. If you have an option take it with someone else. This was the first class I have ever gotten a C and would avoid at all cost.

The most boring professor I've ever had! He basically reteaches principles of macro but throws in a bunch of calculus that he then doesn't test you on so it just ends up being a waste of everybody's time! The tests aren't too hard though and he's an easy grader. Just read through the power points for an hour and you should be able to pull off a B

Tests are relatively easy, he is very clear about what will be required for essay questions and goes over them in a review session the class before the test which makes it easy. His multiple choice questions are harder. His lectures are long but informative and interesting. If you think they're boring you should probably not be an Economics major.

Very long and boring lectures, which only 12 people show up to. The class is rather challenging since his multiple choice tests are rather ambiguous.

Do you enjoy beard stroking, over exaggerated hand gestures, and dry wit? Then this is most certainly the class for you. Bomberger is pretty cool. Class isn't that hard. I did fall asleep at least once every day. Go to lecture, take the practice tests and you should be golden.

If you go to class, read the slides, do the practice tests, and read the current events you should get an A. The tests are very similar to previous ones. This is a very simple class. Those who complain about this class are either lazy or dumb. The slides cover all 8 fill-in-the-blank questions. He gives you the answers to the graphs on the exams.

Tough to stay awake at times, but still a good class. Key is paying attention and taking good notes. Has a "unique" sense of humor and loves to stroke his beard. Not amazing, but not bad either. Do the practice exams and you'll do fine.

Boring as hell! I'd rather watch paint dry on a wall than attend another one of his lectures. Material is difficult...I reccomend a good 4-5 days of studying before each exam. You don't have to go to class, but you should. I reccommend taking aderol before each class because he is way too boring to listen to.

This guy is a goon. He's the single most boring "teacher" i've ever encountered. He has absolutely no interest in helping his students in any way. he doesn't even let you know your grade or how you're doing in the class until it's over. if you don't absolutely have to take this class, don't even consider it.

if you're economically minded, this class should not be hard for you. he makes things crystal clear in his lectures (although they can be very dry at times) and is available to help outside of class. this is sort of a weed out class for people who don't belong in econ, so take it seriously. i recommend coming to class and buying the textbook.

i have never gotten less than a B+ in any class, but I got a D in this class. i did poorly on the first exam and there was no way to bring my grade up. doesn't assign grade cutoffs until the end of the semester, so it's impossible to gauge what grade you'll be getting until the final grades show up on isis. worthless lectures and book.

I feel like he doesn't know anything aside from what he talks about in his lectures. The tests are very meticulous and you have to know every minute detail. This class is required for econ majors, but if you are not an econ major, you should not take this class for any reason. My least favorite class of the year.

Yep, it can be quite boring, but what do you expect for macroeconomic theory? Very, very straightforward, although exams are out of 29 points, so a couple little slips and you're already out of an A, so make sure to know EVERYTHING. Typically a low amount of A's are given out, so you'll have to work for it. Decent class though; I learned a lot.

This class is really tough. I loved economics... up to this point. Intermediate Macro is killing me slowly but surely. I have a perfect 4.0 so far (at the end of my 3rd year) and all As in other classes. But I have a low C in this class! If the next econ class I take is as bad as this one, I may not be an econ major anymore...
