Very willing to help. Gives a lot of extra credit. Go to class (pop quizzes that can really help your grade; you get a point just for handing it in), read the book, and go to study sessions.

Dr. Currier is really helpful. He's really good about providing students with extra help, and he offers a lot of extra credit. It's a hard class, and there are a lot of students, so take advantage of the extra help! And do the reading! Also, make sure to go to class--he gives random attendance quizzes, and they can really help out your grade.

If you commit about 1-2 hrs a day on PBIO, you'll be set. For those with lives to enjoy, this class is hell. There is extra credit, but it's no piece of cake. Try getting a tutor as soon as possible. Currier is a good guy, but an absolute robot with very poor communication skills (even his wife admits to it). You can make it though. Work w/ friends

Really helpful. Hard material, but offers a lot of help outside of class. Also offers a lot of extra credit. Really good professor. As long as you pay attention in class, keep up with the reading, and do the extra credit, you can do really well.

Good professor. Material is hard, but he gives you a lot of chances for extra credit, and will really go out of his way to help you understand the material. If you take advantage of the opportunities he gives you, you can do well.

Dr. Currier really wants his students to do well, and he gives you a lot of chances to do well--for example offering up to 25 points extra credit on exams. His lectures are pretty clear, and the book is helpful. He offers a lot of review time outside of class, not only before exams, but every week. Overall, a very good professor.

Currier is the man. Most people who take his class don't realize that he really wants everyone to do well. He gives lots of extra credit and he will give you the answers for if you go see him! He does 8 extra hours of review time the week of tests! 8 hours! He talks really fast and clears his throat a lot, but he's a good and helpful guy

Insanely difficult to understand in lecture. Should not be a professor because he doesn't know how to talk to students only other biochemists. In order to pass you have to go see him at least once a week. TERRIBLE

One word summary: Affable. Swell chap. Loves Biochemistry. V. Enthusiastic and it rubs off on only those who go and see him oft. See him AT LEAST once/wk. even if you understand. Will explain anything, even whole extra credit homework questions if you will but go and see him. Tests are semi-easy once you know how he tests and what he's testing on.

Great Prof and Advisor. Hardest exams @ UVM though. Heavy focus on chemical structures, but with good reason. Exams require ability to relate concepts. Complaints come only from the people who are unprepared for the class and who have not taken the suggested requirements.

Horrible lecturer. Often unclear and tests put emphasis on topics that were not clearly discussed in lecture.
