He is not a bad professor. He does talk a lot about himself and family. He will test you making full sentences in Spanish even without teaching you how to make full sentences. He does care about his students and he does love spanish. I dropped his class because he was just to confusing, too really learn the language.

He cares a lot about his students, but sometimes it's frustrating when he cares too much. He likes to talk about his personal life and give out personal philosophical life lessons in class. He was slow up until the end when we rushed through 3 chapters and it was tough to comprehend. He wants you to care about learning Spanish.

He teaches you how to speak Spanish, not just learn vocabulary. Focuses on speech patterns, grammar, and producing accurate language which will take you soooo far. Show up and practice, take note on the writing prompts and sentence examples he puts on the board - these are usually what you will have to write about on the exam. Highly recommended.

This professor is great. He does not go too fast which is important for beginners, and he teaches us how to study the language. He basically tells us what is on the test. If you read the book, study and practice, do the online work, and find a really good study partner who will meet with you before class each time, then you will get a good grade.

He is one of the best language teachers I've come across. He makes the class feel comfortable about speaking in a foreign language and he is pretty funny. I had 2.5 hour night classes, but somehow it was still my favorite class to go to. I highly recommend him for Spanish 101.

ISPAN 101, I am not a native speaker. He covers a great deal of material and assigns lots of homework, tests are hard. Don't be discouraged. Having taken follow-on Spanish classes, he's the best by far, possibly the best professor of any course I've taken. Do the work, With his course, you'll gain a solid grasp of Spanish language and culture!

Need to show up for class. Seriously only way to learn is by listening and speaking. He's enthusiastic! Attendance is 10% grade. Online Homework is easy, not demanding, but he will not take late work. Exams are NOT multiple choice. He's a helpful and interested teacher. A good grade from him means your prepared for 102. Can't fall behind.

Strict. Show up 100% of time and don't forget to do web homework. Interact in class (hard when it's late). If you do this and study you will learn. Strongly recommend this teacher if you want to pursue language major.

I took Spanish 101 with Professor Davis in the Spring of 2012. If you do the online activities, the homework, come to all the classes, and study you will do fine in his class. His class is great because he really wants everyone to get the basics before the next course. - is the cost of the book.

His attitude and sense of humor keeps the class engaged and paying attention, he is definitly not boring. I found the class to be difficult, and as far as teaching he can really veer off track sometimes. But the class was fun and I enjoyed my time in the class which means a lot to me.

Davis' class is fun, but he has a very rediculous grading system. A 92% is min. for an A. (I got a 91... = B) I really think he wants to screw students on there grade. Won't discuss your current grade in the class. Find someone else who is easier.
