Pretty good, but not the best in the world. AST 192 was pretty tough mathematically, but then again, it's astronomy, so it makes sense. He spends a lot of time teaching the math to you, though, and he tries hard to make it as easy as possible. Was pretty helpful, and his lectures made the subject matter VERY clear and understandable.

Great teacher, I had him for AST 191 and and taking 192 next semester, just took the lab, 195 and it was really fun and pretty easy, mostly just some basic algebra. Not much studying is necessary and he grades tests pretty leniently. Always willing to help if you're stuck.

I came into this last without taking a physics class before. Lyster was not helpful at all and really it seemed like he didnt care. Over half of the class dropped and most of the ones that stayed received a D. I would not suggest this professor unless you have a prior background in physics and enjoy spending hours in the library teaching yourself.

Great teacher who actually enjoys what he teaches. He has an Einstein fetish of sort and voice the seems like Kermit the frog but his lectures are never boring and he is a smart and funny guy. Wish I had more teachers like him.
